Rush Limbaugh Unloads NYC Penthouse for $11.5 Million

Back in March we reported that larger-than-life conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh had listed his pre-war Fifth Avenue penthouse for sale at $13.95 million after vowing to leave New York City. Following a $1 million price cut a month or so later, he has now found a buyer for the overdecorated spread who is shelling out about $11.5 million, according to the Wall St. Journal. The 20th-floor penthouse (above) at 1049 Fifth Avenue, which Limbaugh purchased in 1994, features 10 rooms with expansive Central Park and Reservoir views and four terraces, two of which face the park.

There's a double living room with a fireplace, a wood paneled library, large media room with a terrace, a kitchen with a breakfast room, a large dining room with two terraces, four bedrooms with en-suite baths, and his-and-hers dressing rooms and baths, each with an oversized tub and stall shower. There are hand painted mural ceilings and walls throughout by artist Richard Smith and gold leaf moldings. The foyer entry floor is patterned Italian hand-cut marble with herringbone mahogany in the uncarpeted rooms, and walls are upholstered in Fortuny fabric. There's also a separate maid's room with bath on the third floor.

The reason the rooms look cold and unlived in is because Rush hasn't been living in it since he moved, and real estate agents like everything sterile. The decor appears to be a mixture of both the 18th and 19th centuries, but I'll bet most of the furniture and fixtures are new, not old. My wife likes the Victorian period, but personally, I'm crazy about Art Deco. I would love to have a penthouse like that so I can deck it out all in Art Deco!

Known as the "Viagra Marecon" South of the border as a result of his sexual preferences and activities, Rush can now afford his multiple prescriptions and his preferred Cholo Hombres down Mexico way, and pay his new "wife" her contract price, as he did lhis last two.

As his New York pad indicatees, Rush enjoys gay decorators, which allow him to swish around in private dressed up like another famous right wing cross dresser, J. Edgar Hoover. He also likes to attend private sex clubs in NYC; I wonder where he will reside when he's not hanging around the Miami area with his Cuban friends?

Good riddens and i hope he never comes back, I would not give that fool 11 cents for that mosalium. Looks like what Saddam Hussian would live in. What a hole that place is.

Kennedys had two PR companies working full time, just to deal with the scandals and uphold a mythical image of class and character. In reality JFK, RFK, Teddy and the rest were white trash with money. At least Rush is not pretending to be someone he is not.
