I'm pretty sure I have the brochure (somewhere in the archives) of this house from the early 1990s when Frank Hardy Realtors in C'Ville were representing it. The swath of land it commands being the most significant aspect.

I just don't see it being that elegant of a grand estate. Despite being listed as late 18th century the house is far too updated with current era faux luxury that visually just falls flat. Had you told me it was built in the 1980's I would think that's about right.

For example, are we really supposed to take that image of the "bar" seriously? It looks like something temporary you'd find put up for a wedding venue. There are more then a few smaller estate homes in just No. Virginia which have actual English taverns - brought over with all the fine woodwork - panels, carvings, fox hunt scenes - inside the homes. This property doesn't offer anything akin to that expected level of detail.

Clearly its been run recently as high occupancy establishment and for that more traffic use comes the need for more durable and less refined interior spaces.
