I use to work for the family that owned this home 3 years ago. They were deep in the money, all staff on duty could drive around in a benz they were all dark blue and we could eat what we wanted to.For christmas time and most of the holidays we would get a bonus check for $5,000 atleast 3 times a year, there are some good rich folks

I cannot give out private info for security reasons. This house holds some good times or should i say mansion.Yes it is located near lynchburg, and when i worked at the mansion they had very tight security. The staff were hghly paid and treated with graet respect

Wayne,
I don't quite understand how asking if it is/was a sporting club violates any security considerations, but I will take your word for it. Thanks...

Shhhh .. Dex ... you might have to be killed if you possess such insider info ;>
You'd think Erik Prince (Xe Services) lives there.
I'm pretty sure I have the brochure (somewhere in the archives) of this house from the early 1990s when Frank Hardy Realtors in C'Ville were representing it. The swath of land it commands being the most significant aspect.
I just don't see it being that elegant of a grand estate. Despite being listed as late 18th century the house is far too updated with current era faux luxury that visually just falls flat. Had you told me it was built in the 1980's I would think that's about right.
For example, are we really supposed to take that image of the "bar" seriously? It looks like something temporary you'd find put up for a wedding venue. There are more then a few smaller estate homes in just No. Virginia which have actual English taverns - brought over with all the fine woodwork - panels, carvings, fox hunt scenes - inside the homes. This property doesn't offer anything akin to that expected level of detail.
Clearly its been run recently as high occupancy establishment and for that more traffic use comes the need for more durable and less refined interior spaces.

LOL...Hey Spec,
I too was thinking that the changes to the house had gone at least an update too far...
That's why I wondered if it was used as a sporting club...personally, I'd love an indoor pistol range and a couple of miles of the James River bank, but I am unsure as to my need for a softball staduim...
Cheers,
CK
