Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli in Bel Air, Estate of the Day
Last time we looked at a home owned by actress Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli (he of the Mossimo brand ubiquitous at Target), they were asking a lot for a little in Laguna Beach. Now the Real Estalker reports that the pair are back at it with another renovated home. Today's estate is a five-bedroom home in the Bel Air area of Los Angeles that the pair bought in 2002 for $8,010,580 according to property records. The 1.43 acre estate once includes a smaller nearly 5,000 square foot mansion built in 1942. According to the Real Estalker, the couple hired Ferguson & Shamamian Architects to add on and renovate and then Obama-approved designer Michael Smith to create the decor. The resulting home is restrained, a mix between California casual and East Coast country house. It reminds me a bit of the home of Loughlin's 90210 castmate Jennie Garth's home only with a little less of a sense of humor. The grounds include a pool, tennis court, a pool pavilion with a fireplace, wet bar and pool table and a separate tent structure that serves as a fitness studio. The home is listed at $19.5 million.

Nice home. Even nicer photos. Put it on 3 acres in Southampton, NY a block or two from the ocean or bordering a pond and it'd be worth the asking price.

The house itself and the grounds are beautiful. The decorating seems to be very busy and trying to combine far too many different elements in relatively small spaces. Just look at the lighting in the kitchen. Three totally different syles all in the same space - nine flushmounted lights, three pendants AND a bronze chandelier. i almost feel light I am walking through a retail design and lighting showroom.

As an interior designer myself, I couldn't have put it better. The room - presumably a living room - with the raked ceiling is ridiculously cluttered, and any good realtor would advise clearing some of that out because that room is huge, but it doesn't look it with so much stuff in it. And the furnishings are a little too cottagey for me - something a little more sophisticated and more minimal would be nicer!

Art, what a nice, non-snarky comment you added. Such a refreshing change from most of the comments seen here.
I had a cranky old aunt that never liked anything anyone did if it was different than how she would have done it herself. I think she thought all homes should be decorated to HER taste, even when they were decorated very well for the style chosen. She had a tendency to point out every little thing she didn't like! She was often rude, and to tell the truth, her taste really wasn't very good but she sure liked her home. Of course we were polite about it.
I think the home featured is beautiful.

I use to love to watch Full House with Lori Loughlin, should of stayed on few more years,or come back with a reunion. Her House The first picture I don't care for on wall looks like kindergarten kid drew it.Too many of same picture going up the staircase. The lamp is ugly above kitchen table and the chairs don't match the table, should have brown chairs like table to match. What is circle in middle of yard a,pond? Flower couches are ugly, two different greens, the lamp don't go with couches at all. The rug don't match flower couches.Curtains over the bed,is weriod, the bedroom needs some color!I would say Get Help from Ethan Allen lol this house needs help.

Why worry about the floral patterns and decorations, save for the one wall of wallpaper, the decorations and floral patterned furnature goes with the owner, you don't buy those, all you buy is the house. All the rest goes away when the previous owner moves out and you move in.

What?!! So now Obama has to approve of Designers?!! Is that for kick-backs, Chicago style? Or do they think that only Liberals have style?

I'm tired of seeing everyone's beautiful homes when there are many of us facing homelessness.

Good Grief. Then don't click on "Estate of the Day" on a site called "Luxist." Sheesh.

Donna Jun 23rd 2010 4:19PM
All the rooms shown are WAY too busy. The decor shouldn't distract from the beauty of the house itself. I would tone it down a bit to show off the architecture.
