The property for all its history and architectural might languished for years on the market. The final purchase price for the amount of land, being along the water, and the mansion (albeit stripped) made it a bargain.<br><br>When it was a wedding venue it went by the name "Valeur" One of the later owners (when it was being used for commercial ventures) was noted as being "appointed a Knight of Denmark's Royal Order by the Queen of Denmark". <br><br>I wasn't aware that Annie Leibovitz's adjacent property with the Ferncliff (Astor) stone barns restored was formally on the market.
