Nick Lachey Lists Bel-Air Home
When Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson broke up he moved from the Mediterranean McMansion he shared with his wife to an ultra-contemporary Bel Air home that he bought from Seal and Heidi Klum. He bought the house in 2006 for $5 million (Seal and Heidi Klum had paid around $4.3 million in 2005). Now the property is back on the market. The Real Estalker reports that the ridge-top mansion has four bedrooms. The interior is bright and modern with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass windows. I seem to recall that the listing pictures from the previous time it was on the market featured white walls and contemporary art. This time we get dark stained hardwood floors, brown walls and sports memorabilia hanging on the walls. The bachelor pad has a pool table, large media room, family room with wet bar and a gourmet kitchen. The large outdoor entertainment area includes a pool with a spa, chaise lounges and a sunken bar that allows swimmers to get a cocktail without leaving the pool. This time the house is listed at $6.8 million.

wow, I am shocked at how bland this home is. It lacks personality. Even the pool area seems blah.
I wonder why so plain?

I like the guy..he's adorable, but WHERE did he get the money to buy it? He had one hit record, right? Where's he making his dough?

Nick started his own internet company. Its kinda like Overstock.com but better (or so ive heard). Just because celebs are not still doing whatever they did to make themselves famousin the first place, does not mean they are not working or have other great talents.

Very nice - not over done. I don't agree with Sherry that it's bland. It has a relaxing, peaceful look to it, like a home should.

Yes. Nice digs. Bland, and a little dark, but very appealing to most bachelors. The house says, "I decorated this place the way I wanted it, not the way my wife wanted it. It's a great place for me and my boys to hang. But when I bring a woman over, and dim the lights, they find it romantic." LOL

Clean lines, open feel....I'd love to live there. I don't find it blah and love the windows and flooring.

For those of you who are wondering where Nick got his money, Jessica Simpson had to pay him as terms of their divorce settlement. It was presumed by insiders that she cheated and therefore, gave him what he wanted without much haggling. However, those funds dried up and he doesnt have any consistent income other than a few local commercials that air in Cincinnati where he is from.

This home is very bland it would take a few mill to make it looking classy.
Srmhomer Jun 21st 2010 8:02PM
I was going to try and attack people for calling this home bland, but there sure is a lot of the color beige going on here. Lots of neutral colors. Playing it safe in a very modern way, but I kind of dig it.

The reason Lahey's home appears so bland, is because any house seller must 'de-clutter' and 'de-personalize' the house, in order to attract serious buyers. Plus, it's possible that Lahey is a clean, neat person who doesn't like knick-knacks and crap everywhere. He's obviously got great taste, whether you approve of his style or not.

I would take that home in a heartbeat and sell it and buy something with some flowers, some plants, something. The outdoor area is very unwelcoming and very generic. It reminds me of something you would find at a hotel, not someone's home. I was not impressed with the decor of the home either, its my opinion. It did not look homey, it looked like something he would rent out to other people.

People, People! This home is expansive and in tune with the surrounding nature. Warm neutral colors and soft textures abound. The pool areas are clean and clear of party stuff but let one imagine the bright towels and trays of fruit and nuts!
The walls of glass are beautiful and such a fantastic idea. Open to the wealth of nature with the space and comfort we humans crave these days. Damn wish I could buy it!

Hello! Nick made $ from their reality show plus he already had a career with the Band! Then, he started his internet biz. He's no dummy. He makes alot of $. He & Vanessa M. are doing just fine. He will get a bigger place, someday get marr. & have children. He's not going to do that in the home that he shared w/Jess. I doubt that he's downsizing.
