Conan O'Brien's Sale Is Good News For New York City Real Estate

Conan O'Brien is Majectic no more. The talk show host has sold his large duplex apartment at the Majestic co-op on Central Park West. The Wall Street Journal's Josh Barbanel says that the deal came in at close to the $29.5 million asking price. If the unnamed buyer closes in that price range it would be the second-highest sale of the year so far in Manhattan and would be the most expensive sale at the Majestic. The unit in the twin-towered building was created by combining two apartments on the 17th and 18th floors. There are a total of seven bedrooms, three terraces and two libraries. John Burger, a broker at Brown Harris Stevens had the listing. O'Brien moved to Los Angeles when he took over "Tonight Show" on NBC. In 2008, O'Brien and his wife Liza paid $10.75 million for a six-bedroom home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles. Looks like O'Brien and his family will be staying in Los Angeles for a while, especially because he has a new gig as a late night host for TBS.
