The Chimneys, Estate of the Day

the chimneys
I knew the minute I read about this home on Newsday a few weeks back that I had to take a closer look. The Chimneys in Mill Neck, New York is a gorgeous historical property. The main house, built in 1928, was designed by Hart & Shape, a firm responsible for other stately Tudor homes. This seven-bedroom home is on Mill Neck Creek with 900 feet water frontage and has a wine cellar, library and huge grand salon.

The 24-acre property includes a carriage house, two garages, a guest cottage, stable, tennis court and green house. Newsday quoted one of the current owners, gardening expert Amy Goldman, who owns the house with her siblings through a corporation, as saying that she hopes it will go to a family who appreciates it. The home is listed at $20 million.
