New Bakery Chocolates from Godiva

What else is there besides chocolate that generates so much passion among the sweet savvy? To satisfy those addictive cravings for sweeter than sweet chocolate treats, Godiva Chocolatier will launch a new section of luscious chocolates including bakery goods in the fall. But be forewarned...a little goes a long way as these delectables are intense. Tops among the new offerings is a Belgian chocolate flourless cake, $45, a stunning way to top off a great dinner.

Godiva's new Bakery Dessert Truffle Collection, also to be introduced in boutiques and online this fall, features six different types of truffles, reminiscent of the little delicacies that arrive with your bill at pricey European restaurants. Godiva's new truffle flavors are tiramisu, carrot cake, cheesecake, lava cake, red velvet with a chocolate interior coated with a white-chocolate shell, and the amazing strawberry tarte truffle. Six pieces-- and I dare anyone to eat more than one at a time--cost $15; 12 truffles, $25; and 24, $50. Less decadent and less sweet, but just as indulgent are the chocolate-dipped madeleines (just as Proust remembered) coated entirely or half-way in chocolate.

If you want to whip up a fab dessert more or less on your own, check out Godiva's Mousse Cup Dessert Kit, $20 that comes with 16 tiny dessert cups and a mousse mix to fill them with. Add a berry or two or a sliver of chocolate and you have an easy dessert whipped up in a flash. Order online at www.godiva.com or at Godiva boutiques nationwide.
