Sunday Real Estate Round-Up, 05/16/10


From the Wall Street Journal's Private Properties:
--Former American Skandia chief executive Wade Dokken has listed his ranch in Montana for $29.95 million. Bullis Creek Ranch was once planned to be an eco-luxury residential development with a cooking school run by chef Alice Waters. The 6,795-acre property is about 45 minutes from an entrance to Yellowstone Park and has a five-bedroom Engelmann spruce log home and two guest houses. The listing is here.
--Talent manager Sandy Gallin has put his Bridgehampton, New York estate back on the market for $26.9 million. It was listed at $32 million last year when we checked it out as an estate of the day.

--The boyhood home of singer Leonard Cohen is for sale in Montreal for $1.495 million Canadian. The listing is here.
From Curbed LA:
--Actress Angelica Huston has listed her home in Venice, California for $18 million. The home is two different buildings and was built by her late husband, sculptor Robert Graham, and his son.

From the LA Times Hot Properties:
--Actor Bruce Davison and his wife, Michele, have put their remodeled Sherman Oaks home up for sale at $1.8 million. The listing is here.
--Actress Patricia Barry has listed her two-story home in Beverly Hills for $5.23 million. The home was built on a lot purchased in 1927 by Charlie Chaplin and his soon-to-be-ex-wife Lita Grey Chaplin. Lita Chaplin had architect Roy Seldon Price build the residence and set designer Harold Grieve did the interiors. The listing is here.
--Filmmaker and commercial director Joe Pytka has sold the Frank-Lloyd Wright-designed Taggart House in Los Feliz for $2.335 million. The listing is here.

--Queen Latifah bought a Hollywood Hills home owned by actor Henry Simmons for $1.34 million.
--Actor Scott Caan has listed his home in the Lauren Canyon area of Los Angeles, shown above, for $2.075 million. The listing is here.
--Model Jessica Gomes has listed her one bedroom apartment in New York City for $875,000.

--Real estate mogul Joseph Moinian has cut the price on his five-bedroom Park Avenue apartment to $7.9 million, from $8.995 million. The listing is here.
--A co-founder of the Scoop clothing store, Uzi Ben-Abraham has listed his two-bedroom TriBeCa duplex for listed for $3.1 million. The listing is here.

From the NY Post:
--Anthony Caleb Followill, the lead singer of Kings of Leon, and model girlfriend Lily Aldridge are renting at the Superior Ink condo development on West 12th Street. Their two-bedroom residence was listed for around $8,000. Buyers in the building include Hilary Swank, Marc Jacobs and NASCAR star Jimmie Johnson.
--Harold Ford Jr. the former Tennessee congressman and his wife Emily are apartment shopping in Manhattan.
--Steven Kamali, the co-owner of Montauk's Surf Lodge and real estate broker for downtown clubs and restaurants has put his condo at the Porter House building on the market for $1.75 million. The listing is here.
--A piece of Southampton land with more than 1,000 feet of waterfront is hitting the market for $36 million. The two-parcel, 8-acre property is owned by descendants of Standard Oil founder Henry Rogers.
--Trey Parker, co-creator of the "South Park," recently looked at a $12,000-a-month rental at 261 W. 28th St. with his wife, Emma Sugiyama.

--Former Lehman Brothers exec David Bize has sold his high-floor two-bedroom at 15 Central Park West for $7.1 million.
--Makeup master Bobbi Brown and her husband, Steven Plofker, a lawyer and real estate developer, have purchased a $1.9 million apartment at 1 Fifth Avenue.
Halston CEO and former president, Bonnie Takhar and her husband, Angus Whelchel, director of private capital markets for Barclays, recently closed on a $3,100,440 unit at 141 Fifth Avenue.

--Professional golfer Jeff Sluman has listed his 16-room mansion in Hinsdale for $5.45 million. The listing is here.
--A 7,000-square-foot turreted house on the Northwest Side of Chicago that belongs to Rudy Acosta, the onetime head of a Chicago hip-hop recording company, has been listed at $1.89 million. The listing is here.
--David W. Fox Jr., JPMorgan's vice chairman of investment banking, has listed his historic five-story graystone mansion on the Gold Coast for $5.5 million. The listing is here.

--The 48,000 square foot mansion in Texas named Champ d'Or, is now offering tours for $75 to help raise money for a library and community center.
