Al Gore Buys A Montecito Mansion

Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, have joined the rich and famous who call Montecito home. The LA Times reports that "Incovenient Truth" author spent $8.875 million for an oceanview home on 1.5 acres. The property includes a swimming pool, spa and fountains. Like many other homes in the area this one is a Mediterranean-style home. It has six fireplaces and five bedrooms.

A variety of celebrities live in the area which is located in California's Santa Barbara county. Many celebrities including Oprah Winfrey and Rob Lowe own Montecito homes. It boasts some of California's most expensive real estate. The Gores also own a large mansion in the Belle Meade area of Nashville, Tennessee.

I'm sure he's gonna spend ANOTHER 8.8mm to plant trees so he can participate in the mythical carbon footprint balancing act that jerks like him feel makes them better than the rest of us. Bet the fountains alone run more electricity than the average american household. Good Job Greenie!

How much carbon do six fireplaces release? What kind of toxic chemicals do his pools and fountains use? How about his big lawn - how much chemicals and water there? Electricity for all of those pumps, filters, etc ? Am I to believe he maintains these expansive grounds with reel mowers and hedgeclippers ? When it was uncovered that Big Al declined the optional 9 cent -per- Kwh upcharge for "green" electricity @ his Tennessee property, that`s all I needed to know about his agenda. When you factor in all of the lawn equipment, water, chemicals, and electricity that his mansionS use, his carbon footprint is the equivialent of a small factory. Yet, according to him, I should "do my part" and live in a fu*king grass hut. I hope that fat pig chokes on one of his free-range, organic chicken bones.

a hypocrite?? that word DEFINES repugs. a hypocrite is a repug congressman that screams that somehow gays harm straight marriage while hes out asking for nudes of male interns or toe tapping in public restrooms so he can s^ck d!ck lol. thats you guys. too funny. a hypocrite is some repunk like rush limpballs (whom is probably gay, and a draft dodger according to his college lover) and ann (horse face) coulter spewing hate at every chance like most repukes, and then claiming to be Christians. a hypocrite is a repug that CLAIMS to be against abortion, but never takes the issue back to court with a supreme court full of repug appointees! you guys WANT abortion legal so it can be "your" issue at voting time. as far as gores house goes.... in a year or so the whole house may be solar powered and green. you idiots do even know.

I totally agree with you. For so long now, it has made me so sick of these rich idiots, who don't need a house this big, nor 2, 3, 4, etc., homes, when there are people that are homeless, starving, etc.. These rich people have their priorities really screwed up, not to mention, when people that are rich try holding a fundraising event, and ask people to help, when they themselves have all the money needed to take care of a situation. Also, a bunch of stars have so many cars (ex. I love Jay Leno, and I know he likes to collect cars) yet how many poor people don't even have a car ( a decent one that runs) in our country???? The rich should try living, and driving, how the poor do, maybe that will be the slap in the face they need. Gore, you are truly an idiot -- big house, not needed, not environmently friendly, and who are you trying to out-do???? I wouldn't want to be married to someone so very selfish as you are. Why don't you make your other house back east a home for giving meals and living quarters to the homeless????? You and your wife should be very ashamed of your greedy ways.
