Lamborghini Yacht Concept by Mauro Lecchi

Lamborghini is no stranger to the water. In addition to producing some of the most desirable supercars ever to grace green tarmac, its marinized engines have hit blue water as well in offshore racing powerboats. But so far, the exotic Italian automaker has stopped short of designing its own yacht. Leave it, then, to a budding young designer to pick up the slack.
The brainchild of Italian transportation designer Mauro Lecchi, this Lamborghini yacht design borrows elements from iconic Lamborghini supercars and applies them to a 50-foot powerboat design. The theoretical specifications call for carbon-Kevlar construction to keep weight down, and a range of engine options from twin 700-horsepower Volvo Penta turbo-diesels to triple Lamborghini V12s.

Nice enough, but does a boat really need to look like a car?
Can't we appreciate them both for their own unique qualities?
And at what point do the design elements interfere with the engineering elements? Just because it's "pretty", doesn't mean it designed for optimum usability.
