Beverly Grove, Estate of the Day

Israeli-born architect-builder Yechiel "Eli" Yogev, who built the CalTrans building in downtown Los Angeles, constructed this beauty. Yogev, the owner and co-founder of Maya Steel Fabrications, has listed the 9,000-square-foot home in Beverly Hills at $12.1 million. Hard-pressed to define its style? I'd go with Trophy Modern and let the boys at the AIA come after me.
However you define the style, it's a definite one-of-a-kind home, a megalith tour de force with seemingly larger-than-life expansive spaces. The liberal use of steel caissons and cement contribute to the fortress. The home has a rooftop pool and deck, an elevator, a glass-floored 500-bottle wine cellar, towering ceilings and massive 20-foot glass walls.
There are illuminated waterways, imported Jerusalem stone, sand stone, mahogany walls and basaltic stone flooring. There is a 40-foot interior waterfall in the atrium and a stainless steel and mahogany tread sculpted staircase spans the three stories. Steel-encased bridges connect the main house with the 4,700 square foot roof top deck and pool. The home has four bedrooms and six bathrooms, including those in the guesthouse. The kitchen comes equipped with three Caesarstone islands with built-in Viking, Bofi, and Gaggenau appliances and stainless steel cabinetry. The home is equipped with a screening room and a top-of-the-line Crestron electronics system. The master suite includes custom glass doors, mirrored TV, private deck and a spa-like bathroom with steam room and walk-in closet.
Ben Bacal of Homeology LA, Keller-Williams Hollywood Hills, and Aaron Kirman of Hilton & Hyland, Beverly Hills, share the listing.

I'm guessing the Crestron system is playing Corey Hart's "I Wear My Sunglasses At Night" in a constant loop through the home's speakers. This is one house where you need to wear them 24/7.

What a beautiful home. The architecture is splendid and everything flows so nicely. I love the floor to ceiling windows, wood, stone and overall feel of this home it has lots of class and style. Nice Job!! http://www.mayleisuen.com
