I own a first generation CTS-V and GM has made me feel like a Chump! Every time there was an issue with the car I paid; even after I contacted subcontractors who advised that there were issues with early components. I can imagine what the Supercharger will add to the equation.

msey946802

Comments on Review: 2010 Cadillac CTS-V, King of the Super-sedans

Sam you need to proof read and do a little more research next time. No car ever has 556hp and 551tq at 1500rpm; twice as fast as idle?! More like 6100rpm 556hp and 3800rpm 551tq. The large LS V8 is notorious for its bottom end torque thus 3800rpm is very early to achieve maximum torques. Because the engine is a LS V8 (gm; corvette) its been developed for a long time and imo is the best overall V8 especially considering value. ALTHOUGH you failed to mention the car weighs 4200lb which is almost a ton more then a ZR1. How big is a ton? 2009 CTS-V performed 7:59 at the legendary Nurburgring (high speed track) , the same as a 1996 Nissan Skyline GTR (280hp) LOL. Mind you the skyline is not good for high speed tracks! Don't tell me you forgot about the M3; embarrassing! Bottom line, M3 is the benchmark of ALL front midship vehicles and you would be way better off buying that then a GM. It is not the winner of all the cars, just because some engineers tried to make it good, doesn't mean they blew the competition apart; you don't think BMW and everyone else tried too!? In my opinion, the BMW looks better in every way, performs better and holds good value. They all have their pro's and cons and the CTS-V is still a great car, just your article was way off and you need to look further into what the CTS-V is competing with rather then looking at only performance figures as comparing vehicles; because you would be surprised to see American vehicles look best on paper; but its the further comparisons that you see they are on par, ahead or behind their competition.

alex_polski

Comments on Review: 2010 Cadillac CTS-V, King of the Super-sedans

Alex, you need to do a bit more proofreading and research, or maybe even some math. At 4200 pounds, the CTS-V weighs roughly 1000 pounds more than a ZR1. In case you didn't know, 1000 pounds is NOT a ton. It's is half that amount.
And as for your Nurburgring comments, I have two thoughts. Those lap numbers are great for advertising, but how many Cadillac buyers are likely to run their cars on the track? 1% maybe? They rest will simply brag about the cars' capablity while driving through traffic to their favorite restaurant.
And secondly, your comparisons are all to much smaller cars than the CTS. Sure the 3 Series-based M3 is fast, but it's back seat is barely usable for adults. And the GTR isn't a sedan at all.
Caddy has done a good job with this car for what it is. It's not for everyone, and it's not cheap. But then, it's not supposed to be,

jpdr1100

Comments on Review: 2010 Cadillac CTS-V, King of the Super-sedans

toyota sucks!!!!!
