funny how people used to be in awe of, and also in fear of, such things as erupting volcanoes, and now people just go head long into a potentially dangerous situation just so they can say, "see how cool i am". and they pay a lot of money for it too. i wonder - did that couple have to sign a contract waiving any right to sue in the event they hurt them selves or were injured or killed by an... ha, ha... "unexpected" eruption?

i don't know that i'm judging, necessarily... but it does seem people are getting to be a bit more care less about things ancient woman and man used to fear. i dunno. just seems that people are losing touch with the natural world - a dangerous thing.

There always were fools before. A guy owned a lodge at the base of Mount St Helens. When the thing was bulging they told him to evacuate. He said he's staying, and they never found him. The thing blew up with like ten megatons or so and he was a mile or less away from that. Like a small nuke, also let's not forget everyone who thought, Katrina isn't that big a deal I can ride it out. Now they tell you either you leave now or you're on your own. So noone can complain how come the govt can't rescue me? You stay it's your problem. Lava usually moves slow but sometimes you can get cut off. Best have your cell phone so they can call in a copter to carry your sorry a$$ out of there.
