Limited Edition Exercise Machine: The Designer PowerPlate

Exercise machines might help make people beautiful but the equipment itself is usually anything but. Looking to change all that, however, is Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada, who has decked out a PowerPlate (vibrate your way to fitness) in a vivid floral motif. The limited edition model is bright and colorful almost to the point of being obnoxious, but I'm thinking most exercise rooms could use the pop of color (whether it coordinates or not). 'Regular' PowerPlates sell for approx $4,500 but this one will cost you £9,525 (or about $14,300).

That's a great way to handle a reasonably ugly piece of equipment. I've been using a power-plate for the last two months through a sports-medicine chiropractor. I find it to be an incredible machine to promote the strengthening of stabilizing muscles: it wont make you lift 50lbs more, but will keep you balanced and tight reducing the twist and wander that knees and backs usually go through, and it has been an incredible aide while getting my knees and back in line.
As fond of the power plate as I am, it's not attractive. But this model (if only I had the means) would be a great overhaul in a workout room. I wonder if the artist can/will do alternate colors and patterns.
Maybe I should just paint it myself, and save the additional $10k us.
