Sorry, Josh. I don't see 6.1 million dollars here. Beautiful place and I do live in So Calif, but it just isn't here UNLESS you factor in the property. Perhaps that's it.

The headline says Groban lists a $4 million estate for sale, but the asking price is over $6 million. Is Deidre Wollard making an appraisal??

NICE ENOUGH BUT OVERPRICED BY A MILLION OR SO. TOUGH TIME TO GET 6.1 FOR THIS PLACE. GOOD LUCK JOSH

Well, from what I understand, Josh put a lot of improvements in the house when he bought it. So I would imagine that is why the markup.

This is gorgeous, and I'm sure 6.1 is with the add ons and what not, but it is a lovely home, and I hope he and his dog will be happy there.

Real nice place.
One huge improvement would be to burn the furniture.

I love the grounds they are simply beautiful but the inside decor has alot to be desired.. it doesn*t fit the house .. it looks like it belongs on a ranch in Texas.. so that would be the first thing I*d get rid of .. and the next is the price.. too much for the way real estate is these days.. but like I said the out side is beautiful and looks so serene....good luck in selling it and if you cant well I would love to get a birthday present from a star..

Call in a decorator....someone with staging experience...who can work using the architecture of the home and the beauty of the landscape to accentuate this lovely home.
From what I can see, besides the exterior...the interior design lacks a lot......
Good luck in selling....

All the furnishings looks like they were bought at Pottery Barn during a 20 minute buying spree....you need more than money to have class

What is the square footage? The place is NRO, interiors and outdoor areas all require complete re-do. Nightmare kitchen, hey how many baths and amenities? Obvious no pro had a hand in landscaping or interior design. Bottom line, this place is a fixer up. Josh should stick with his daytime job, the young man can sing-decor not so much-err, not at all, err umm interiors utterly and most extraordinarily ugly. Wonder what they'd pay us to take the rubble pile off their hands?
David S. Mar 12th 2010 9:28AM
A "fixer-upper?" What a hoot people are. Just because you don't like some of the interior paint colors and furnishings does not make it a "pile of rubble." Get a life -- I am so sure you live someplace grander than this, eh? The price is because it is Malibu -- people pay big bucks to live there. It ain't Topeka, Kansas.

DAVID S: Matter of fact, bless your heart, I do live better, MUCH better. Location Location LOCATION!!! I am well aware of Malibu beach properties and asking prices, the house in this article is not on the beach, outdated and it is not merely the nightmare interiors, it is the entire landscaping and outdated horrid rest of the place which has been poorly maintained. I've more than one place, but let me assure I know where of I speak. You sir are obviously limited and maybe even a fan of the properties owner, I standby my previous post except perhaps should have asked where Barney Rubble was it' s original owner.

Matter of fact, bless your heart, and thanks for asking, I do live rather better and always have. IF as in I-F you read my original post, I mention the exterior as well. Hey DAVID S> If you like it perhaps it's because it suites your personal taste-I'm not judging. Can't help but wonder whether you've a vested interest int this property? Each of our homes are in better locals than noisy crowded LA county, decor is better and most importantly QUIET> Would you like perhaps a description of one of our homes up north, thirty five rooms, ten fire places, pool, billiard room wine cellar, nine full baths each measuring twelve by ten, three powder room, four car garage, two pergolas, five acres-great for hosting dignitaries. Or should I mention the beach house in Hawaii, or pied a tier in NYC or-Yes DAVID S. we do live quite well and know when we see a place in dire need of professional fix up clean up.

I wouldn't call it a pile of rubble but it's overpriced and dated. I also know Malibu and live is SO CALIF. Love Josh's music but he's let his house go. I don't see upgrades. I see NEED of upgrades. Perhaps his music was his focus. If you aren't home much, you don't see much. If I were selling this property, I'd lower the price, upgrade the kitchen and empty it of his belongings bringing in new updated furniture. At this point, it doesn't look like it's worth anywhere near $6.1 million.
