Mel Gibson's Lavender Hill Farm, Estate of the Day

The Real Estalker dropped a bit of delicious real estate news on Friday, Mel Gibson is selling another of his Malibu properties. In 2008 he sold off several Malibu properties but held onto his compound in the gated Serra Retreat community. Lavender Hill Farm is a hacienda-style retreat on 2.57 acres. The grounds include fruit orchards, organic gardens, a tennis court, pool and three guest houses. The main house rambles over 5,400 square feet of space and offers the owners privacy in a second floor master suite with a separate sitting room. The remodeled home has six bedrooms total. The living and dining rooms have tiled floors and rough hewn beamed ceilings. Other details include a large country kitchen with tiled counters, breakfast room, library, a media/music room, office, exercise room and sun room. A particularly nice touch is the open entertainment pavilion with a fireplace and built in barbecue center. The Real Estalker says that Mel Gibson's ex-wife Robyn has been in residence at the home. It is listed at $14.5 million. Hopefully it won't stay on the market as long as his Greenwich, Connecticut home which has been listed for 3 years. Check out more images at the property website.

I guess people in La La Land must be smokin' lavender if they think a 'farm' is less that 3 acres. Get real, CA people. A 'real' farm has to be over 10 acres in order to be called a farm. You have too man McMansions out there as well. Who needs a house that has ove 3,000 square feet? NO ONE! Less is more!

Mr. Gibson has a large chess set at the Greenwich house as well.

This is one gorgeous house and that website that shows it off listed in the description above: Now that's the way you show off a property/house!

Gorgeous home/property. I'm a realtor in Louisiana and I love viewing beautiful homes and this is surely "Beautiful". The grounds are especially wonderful.

It is amazing the lavish life style in our society that an immoral drunken person can afford.
I guess that shows us what we value in our culture.

Now, now, Jealousy will get you where you already are LMAO!!!!!!!

I agree with Jean; STOP WHINING CSR! LOL

I agree CSR,
What a shame a person in our society who play make believe as their job produce an icome which far exceeds many surgeons who save lives. Doesn't say much for our society and what we have become. Beautiful property though!

So Jean H, according to you, we average citizens cannot criticize the moral values of the rich and famous because then we are jealous.
According to this philosophy those who do not agree with some of the decisions made by our current President and dare exercise their freedom of speech must be racist; right?
From now on I will only make comments about those who are more or less within my economic level, who are of my same ethnic group and practice the same religion; anything else that you can think of?

IT IS WHAT IT IS, IN LIFE THERE IS A REASON FOR EVERYTHING, AND ANYTHING.
SO MY COMMENT IS, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT LIFE HAS IN STORE FOR US, SO JUST
DON'T TRY TO FIGURE OUT, SOMEONE ELSES LIFE>>.
AS ALWAYS, ALL THAT ONE HAS ISN'T EVERYTHING, ITS WHAT ONE WANT'S THAT IS EVRYTHING>>>

Its a great benefit to his neighbors that he is selling. Judgemental is one terminology i don't believe applies to some the the comments he has made. He is prejudicial and a low life. Hope he has to sell his homes one by one. You meet the same people in the way down as up.
randypepsi Mar 9th 2010 4:56PM
It is his neighbors benefiting from the sale. He is a prejudicial person that has little respect for other people. His house is beautiful and a deserving family will enjoy it. His wife should take him to the cleaners so he will meet the same people on the way down that helped him on the way up.

I can only say, stop whinning about Mel.. he is a great actor and director, his personal views and life are not your business... who gives a rat's ass if he talks bad about Jews or any others. Judge him not.. you people are so jealous. as for money, you have no idea what this man makes just monthly on royalties, more than you will ever make in a year ++. grow up, give him credit for his accomplishments, not a one time remark... Damn people are so stupid.

Yes, I was a farmers daughter, and my dad tilled a little over 1000 acres, and a farm was not considered a farm under 10 acres. I looked at the pictures of Mel Gibsons place, and I could be happy there :) The article said his ex-wife was in residence there....does this mean she no longer lives there and this place is being sold to divide assets? The rich do things different than you and I !!

Mel is one of the greatest actor/director of our age. He has proven he can carry any role, action, drama, comedy and direct. You want bigotry and predjudice.....look how they barred "The Passion of Christ" from being included in any Academy awards and the witch hunt after every word he says. Do have to admit he had a stroke of bad luck. Being intoxicated and having a Jewish cop arrest him. I spent 23 years as a cop and only met two Jewish cops in that time, the mommies usually make them become lawyers or doctors.....but never cops or firemen. lol..And they make good doctors. But cops.....Ok maybe. And to his Jewish critics that hate him...remember Jesus was crucified for being a Jew and that is what the story is about. To Mel "I have a great idea forn a movie and only you could do it right. Good Luck with your divorce. What a gold mine marriage has become for women. And I love women. Two divorces later. Don't bring your tooth brush, your not staying. My own saying" women are like my shoes even though they fit and are comfortable, i get new ones"

Good God, who's the interior designer? A great house, but I hope it comes "unfurnished."
GAIL COOPER Mar 11th 2010 9:35PM
Regardless of what you may think of him personally, it must have been a very difficult decision for both Mel Gibson and his family to sell this property. There's always a great deal of sentimental value attached to a "family homestead". Alas, fortunes come and go; people change but sincere, heartfelt affections that really hold families together will withstand the test to time. May peace be with them!!!

MG is still is a scum bag and he made his money from the very people he has suggested are less than he is. I wont see any of his films in the future- nor will I watch his old stuff- and I liked him but he is way too rabid for me
big deal he has nice houses- he will always be remembered as a total jerk off
