Washington State wines have grown in popularity by leaps and bounds over the past few years. A collection,
WInes of Substance highlights both the affordability and versatility of Washington varietals. The brand is a joint venture between
Waters Winery and
Gramercy Cellars. The wines have bold labels that look like entries from the periodic table of elements and the website picks up on that theme, allowing the user to click on each varietal to learn more (not all of the varietals are stand-alone wines). Most of the wines sell for around $20 and many of the 2008 vintages are sold out.
