My wife and I stayed in the Lake Como town of Bellagio (at the Hotel Centrale which we'd recommend) in 2008. Taking a boat going towards the north end of the lake (Como) you'll see waterfront villas with amusing signs that read "No George". Evidently tourists seem to think just about every lovely old villa on the lake is Clooney's residence.

There are many magnificent ones owned by wealthy Milanese families (who retreat there from the city on Holiday and the weekends) which put George's residence to shame.
