The Pointe Restaurant at the Wickaninnish Inn is undoubtedly a very fine dining destination, but to get there from downtown Vancouver requires a 30-60 minute (depending on traffic) drive to catch a ferry, a 95 minute ferry ride, and then a minumum 4-6 hour drive across Vancouver Island to reach Tofino (depending on which ferry terminal was chosen).

Or a pricy helicopter ride, for the impatient. Is it fine dining? well.. not a true white table cloth service but chef Pino serves accessible good modern interpretations that are well executed. If you're including a Thai restaurant. Then Cioppino's in Yaletown should certainly deserve a mention.

Vince

Comments on Top Fine Restaurants in Vancouver

Agreed with Mette... to stay or dine at the Wickaninnish is an amazing experience, but it is nowhere close to being a "Vancouver" restaurant.

Quattro is the only other destination I've been to and wholeheartedly agree with it's standing on the list!

aaronedenshaw
