Ron Popeil In Beverly Hills, Estate of the Day

We first heard about this one back in December but never gave inventor and pitchman Ron Popeil's Beverly Hills home the full estate of the day treatment. Popeil become part of American households through his Ronco ads (if you need a reminder, one of his infomercials is after the jump). Popeil sold his company in 2005 for a reported $55 million.
Popeil's gated Beverly Hills retreat is an English country-style house on more than an acre of land that includes a tennis court, a pool with a deck area and a two-story guesthouse. The main house has beautiful wood ceilings, slate floors and skylights. The master suite has a fireplace and French windows which open onto a sun deck with a spa tub. This home remains listed at $5.995 million.

This is a nice piece of property. The king of "set it and forget it" has done well for himself.

Very elegant and tasteful. More so than most of the tacky celeb crap we see.

Nice home, but where is the food dehydrater and the pasta machine thingy ?
And two of the chairs are right in front of the stove so if you fry bacon or chicken the guests get spattered. And how do you reach the bottles of beer & liquor on that 12 foot shelf ? Ok, I know, the Popeil ez reach gizmo, right ?
Alright, I'm busted. I'm a famous inventor too. But I completely redesigned my home using human factors engineering. Doesn't look like Mr. Ron has done this to this home....Al-

I don't see a food dehydrator on the kitchen counter... Practice what you preach, Ron!

That was actually a Showtime Rottisserie (SP) on the kitchen counter on the right side. I know because I own, and love mine.... LOL
hhecman Feb 24th 2010 1:54AM
The Rotisserie next to the clock? I think he did...

Where did he eever get the idea that this was "English Style"? My wife and I lived in England for three years and never, ever saw somethinng as hideous as this.
DarrelHall Feb 24th 2010 8:48PM
I see, you got the English attitude while you were there.

Did this creep actually die? Boo-hoo.
twelvnrow Feb 23rd 2010 10:08PM
No. They are talking estate as a piece of property, not the type of estate that is left when one dies.
Myles O'Toole Feb 23rd 2010 9:17PM
It actually kind of looks like my house. Only it's way, way nicer and worth about 5.995 million dollars more than mine. Whodathunk?
BLFan Feb 23rd 2010 9:52PM
You may not see all of his products there, but his white "Set It And Forget It" Rotisserie IS on the counter, just to the right of the clock in the kitchen photo. BTW, perhaps, you were just trying to be funny, but you're not. Stop being a jacka**.

Ron Popeil's life was covered in a major article in the New Yorker a few years ago - this guy went from dirt poor to a major success through relentless effort. The rotisserie was sold in the tens of millions. My favorite (laughable) Popeil product was the spray-on hair - for a brief time he pitched it, using himself as a model - you sprayed some black fiber bits on your bald spot using what looked like a can of spray paint and presto - it was gone - at least until you showered. RIP Ron.

He's not dead. Just wants to sell his house.

That's a lot of Pocket Fishermans and Rotisseries.
flacoin Feb 23rd 2010 10:58PM
Pocket Fisherman was pretty cool. Someone had given me a used one when I was about 12. Had it on the fishing pier in Ft Lauderdale (CA1976) & a foreign tourist gave me 20 bucks for it- big money for a kid then.
