Oprah Winfrey said the Ice Box Cafe bakes the best cakes in the country. Her favorite? The Bomb, which is a decadent symphony of chocolate with two layers of rich chocolate cake filled with melt-in-your-mouth bittersweet chocolate mousse and a layer of cheesecake brownies. The Bomb is topped off with a bittersweet chocolate ganache.
Its sour cream pecan coffee cake was selected as one of the "Best Cakes in America" by the "Oprah Show" in May 2006. The cake is a buttery, moist bundt layered with sugared cinnamon walnuts, topped off with delicious buttered pecan bits. Also selected as one of the "Best Cakes in America" by the "Oprah Show" is the Coconut Buttercream Cake, which is lighter than air, and utterly heavenly. These layers of buttery yellow cake are infused with coconut syrup and separated by cloud layers of fluffy buttercream. It is perfectly finished in pink buttercream and a dusting a white coconut flakes.
The Ice Box Cafe will ship its cakes around the country. Desserts are packed in dry ice to insure freshness.
Vote for the company you believe makes the best cakes. Readers' Choice Winners will be announced on March 1st.
