Mississippi River Retreat, Estate of the Day
Need a lot of space? Today's home in Memphis, Tennessee has it. The former cotton warehouse on Front Street has been converted into three separate apartments plus the main living quarters over four stories. The home has over 22,000 square feet of space, room for a three-car drive through garage, a full gym, a pub with a 25-foot custom bar, conservatory, library, caterer's kitchen and a media room. It also has its own rooftop pool and outdoor lounging area with fabulous views over the Mississippi River. An elevator connects all floors. Some of the home retains just enough of its industrial origin for a touch of rough charm while others seem more suburban than urban. But oh the views from that pool. This building is listed at $5 million.

You left out the most important part. When the Mississippi floods, will the ground floor be dry or somewhat moist?

That house is situated on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. Even if it has record flooding, it's way too high to ever be affected.

OK out there, all you people that just have way too much money and nothing to do with it give it a look see. Let's get serious with today's economy.

Gee Larry, How would you like to be told how to spend the money you have? I thought sustainable and salvage and restore were all the rage. As far as the economy, just think how many jobs there were in the remodel of this big warehouse. How people spend their money is none of your business. If you want to rail on something try railing at Congress...they waste more of YOUR money than you can ever count. Get real and quit lecturing.....you sound like daddy Obama....Hmmm perhaps he's taught well!

Its absolutely beautiful! I'm glad something was made of this building instead of knocking it down and building a parking lot or a condo complex. Good work and lucky people who get to live there, I'm glad for them.

I am not hardly even making it from month to month and these people spend money like it is nothing and they probably have another house or two in other states as always the rich get richer and i am in a wheelchair and Oboma won't even let me get a cost of living raise, This country is going down very fast as long as he is in control..

Your comment has envy and jealousy written all over it. Let it go. It will consume you.
I have a large, beautiful home, a new car and after 30 years at the phone Co, I was able to retire at 52 y/o. My life is good. Money in the bank, all medical benefits and much more. Don't be jealous. I have a question. I started socking money away the day I started at Bell. Are you broke now because of reckless spending and not planning for a future? If so, then you have no one to blame.

I think these homes are really beautiful. I would be interested to know how much they are to buy, not that I can afford one, but just curious. What a great location too.

Beautiful.... and very well thought out.
