Ashley Olsen Lists At Loss In Los Angeles
Ashley Olsen, the blonder and seemingly more Californian of the Olsen twins is the latest celebrity real estate potential loser. While her situation isn't as bad as Scarlett Johansson's $2 million potential loss, Berg Properties Big Time Listings reports that Olsen has listed her home in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles at a price below what she paid for it. She bought the home in 2007 for $1.575 million. The Spanish style three-bedroom was built in 1926. It has had some renovations including new central air and heat, new tiled bathrooms and a new driveway. The listing enthuses that the house never looked better. It has a large living room with a wood-beamed ceiling and French doors lead out to a covered patio and yard with a tiled pool and spa. Arches frame several doorways and the theme is continued with curved fireplaces. Given the span of the Olsen empire, this is a fairly modest home. It is listed at $1.399 million.

1.399 million??? Are you kidding me? There are more beautiful homes for sale for a lot less than that. Are you paying that much just because an Olsen twin owned it? Who cares?
mali031958 Feb 11th 2010 4:33PM
I think it is somewhat dark and dismal.

Here is 2 more do nothings that suck off their parents ,who really cares
Reece Feb 11th 2010 3:42PM
No, it is the other way around. Their parents are living off of them. Those young ladies have been working since they were toddlers. Research and Learn!
kellymcd4 Feb 11th 2010 3:44PM
Suck off their parents?!! I don't think so! The Olsen twins have been working since they were babies! What rock have you been under? If anything their parents sponge off them!!

With the exception of the swimming pool, the home is decidedly non-descript. It has no personality and doesn't look like anyone ever lived there. I know that realtors like for buyers to see a clean slate so they can use their imaginations but this is a little extreme. I am surprised she paid what she did for the home initially if it has had improvements and still looks like it does. It lacks warmth.

$1.399 million for a noticeably plain, bland, starkly furnished house lacking wall decorations or any sign of life? No color. How boring.
This may be a house but it does not have the warmth of a home.
I'll pass.

It is called LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. Doesn't matter what a house looks like sometimes, it is the location that raises the price. And as for the comment about the twins living off of their parents? This person must not know who they are, their money is THEIR money from all their businesses.
Sekinu2 Feb 11th 2010 5:24PM
See now the saying location location location on applies to those who aren't really smart or have so much money they don't care. Its a small house and not worth what its price is and a minus since its in lA and california but there are lots of idiots out there who will pay much more then what the actual house is worth. This is about a $185000 house in most rest of the country..

Blah...
Terry Mc Feb 11th 2010 3:35PM
I personally love this house. It's airy and roomy. I think the reason it's so exspensive is because of the location. Anything in L.A. Is going to cost more than AverageTown USA.

Shhhh! Don't tell anyone, but LA is really just Average Town Usa! But the elitist citizens there are trying desperately to maintain the falsehood of the image they try to project!
Remember: don't tell!!! Ha! Ha!

Yes, you are so correct. If California didn't have el grande agua, it would be any town, USA.
beverly meeks Feb 11th 2010 4:03PM
I WAS VERY SURPRISED......VERY SPARTAN ON THE INSIDE.....COURTYARD AND POOL WERE THE ONLY OUTSTANDING FEATURES......FOR THE MONEY....A HOUSE FOR THAT PRICE IN THE SOUTH WOULD BE PALACIAL..

Actually she is doing well compared to some people in this sucky economy. The value of some houses that I know have been cut in half from just six months ago. It bums me out to see the value of my house now. With this same formula her house would list for $750,000.00. So if she can accept the loss -- take it ... if not be prepared to hold on to it for a long time or take a bigger hit.
