The Apple iPad is Here, Now We Brace for the Bling

The Apple iPad has finally arrived and if history has taught us anything it's that now we brace for the flood of accessories, attachments, and bling that is sure to follow as Apple enthusiasts around the world embellish and personalize their beloved electronic gadgets. From the outside the iPad looks like a larger, wider version of the iPhone (see all the specs and functions described in detail on our sister site Engadget) which means there's little in the way of embellishable surfaces -- just the back and that singular front button. I'm guessing we'll be seeing some gold-plating and diamonds in the future, plus some interesting protective cases and of course engraving of all kinds.
If you're planning to get an iPad what accessories or personalizations will you be looking for? I'm gonna aim high and dream of a stylish but simple Louis Vuitton sleeve.

Looks like an iPhone on steroids.............. Nothing to get too excited about... Appears to be just another gadget or fad you buy , use for awhile, and eventually stick in the drawer with other gizmos you don't use anymore..... Sorry Apple, this one might be sort of a BARK BARK item........... Most freinds of mine I have talked to ahve absolutely no interest in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are the real innovative type too...............................

I want a version of this that uses Windows Mobile. I need a real work machine that is usable in the field. I am a Botanist and I want to run PDA mapping programs like ArcPad and either has a built in GPS or can connect to GPS vial bluetooth, and data collection programs that I created myself using Visual Studio. It has to work well in the sun, wind, rain etc and have a 10hr plus battery life.
No way am I going to spend time learning how to program what ever language the iPAD, blackberry, android... take.
Perhaps a program that would allow WM programs to run would make this very appealing to me. Otherwise faa ged aboud it.

Isn't this basically just a laptop without the lid... plus a few add-ons? Why not just create notebooks or laptops with the same functions? I'm sick of all the insane technology leading us to virtual reality. "Screw you guys... I'm goin' home." Think I'll spend the day smelling the roses, playing with my kids and having dinner with an old friend. If I were king, my first proclamation would be that we are not allowed to advance technologically any faster than we have psychologically and spiritually. Which means that we’d be at about the stage of the light bulb. Can anyone say, "Caprica?"

Will this replace the e-book? and will it do everything that the e-book will do including the same
software?
