I bet this home will be on the market a long time. Interesting design, but not appropriate for New Canaan.

It's situated on a very small piece of property surrounded by typical small town architecture. It stands out like a sore thumb on the street. In addition its price tag is at least twice as expensive as the nearest property. Its surrounded by condo's and apartments.
I'm still scratching my head to figure out what the builder/ architect was thinking when they went and built this.

Jason/ Mak, you clearly don't live in NC, there are lots of modern houses on West Road and scattered throughout New Canaan, it may be on the market for a while, but I doubt because of where it is

I lived there from 1994 to 2004. I live in and work in Darien, and I'm in New Canaan at least two or three times a week. I have relatives that live there. I wouldn't presume to know where you live, but clearly if you think this property is well situated you certainly don't live there now.
You can't tell me with a straight face that this property fits in with the neighborhood. It has a decrepit single family house on one side (the right side) and a string of condo's on the other. Its shoehorned into the lot with barely enough driveway to park a car in without it hanging out into the street. Park Street itself is a main thoroughfare into and out of town.
Yes, NC has lots of contemporaries and those that are on the market are usually found deep in the (four acre zoning) hills where they don't clash with their neighbors. West Road is light years from Park Street where this property is located.
I hope the builder has some deep pockets because he is going to be either sitting on this for a very long time or he is going to give it up for a LOT less than its asking price; at least 1.5M less.

I like the idea but not the execution. Looks like it was furnished by IKEA.

5 Millions for that?
It is nice, sure, but i have seen houses like that in Germany and France, costing 250 000 to 400 000 Euros.
I was told several times that Americans somehow like to pay more for stuff than it is worth and get suspisious when something is not expensive enough, but now i'm really starting to believe it.
