Cher's Home And Others Sell Big In Hawaiian Auction

It seems to be a good week for luxury real estate auctions. Concierge Auctions has announced the results of the January 18 auction of Cher's home in the exclusive Hualalai Resort in Hawaii along with a bunch of other home sales. Cher's home, which she did not live in, was sold to a buyer from Arizona for $8.72 million (it was expected to fetch between $8 and $12 million). The January 18 auction included the successful sale of five properties in Kona, Hawaii, for a total of more than $19.4 million.
In addition to Cher's home, a property at 72-3209 Ka Nehe Place in the Kuki'o Golf and Beach Club and Residences, shown above, which was selling absolute was purchased by a buyer from Beverly Hills for $4.95 million. We profiled this one as an estate of the day and it is a beauty. It was previously offered for $8.45 million so someone got a great deal. A second home selling absolute in Kuki'o, at 72-3205 Punaloa Place, was purchased for $3.85 million. Collectively, the prices achieved for the homes in Kuki'o were $10 per square foot higher than the average price per square foot for other homes sold in the Maniniowali section of Kuki'o over the past six months. Two other home sites in Kuk'io sold for $990,000 and $962,000.

This was not Cher's home. She bought and investment property built a spec house and turned it over. She's a real estate investor.

In the words of Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski, "This aggression will not stand, man."
Does "Why can't we all just get along?" by Rodney King ring a bell?
Why so tense? It's just a house. A long walk in the cool winter air could be quite invigorating for you, and it might take a little edge off of all the hate you're carrying around. If not, might I suggest some anger-management therapy?
It's a house. A house!!!

Looks like a good week for luxury auctions. That would be because only the wealthy still have money. George Bush gave it to them with his tax cuts and left the rest of us with the bill.

Old Cher looks like a sad sack since she had all that work done on her face. She probably can't smile. It amazes me how a no-talent woman can make that much money. Her voice is and always was terrible.

Hey I thought she said when Bush won 8 years ago she was leaving the country? Ya mean she didnt? Another kool-aid drinker!

Gee Joan you sound a little jealous. Big deal if she barely had an 8th grade education. She made a name for herself and has talent. Much more then I can say for the people famous for simply being famous.

I really only have a couple of comments to make. First, this article is about a "home being sold", not politics, not Cher's entertainment ability, etc. Get real!!!
Second, as for education, "formal schooling does not an intelligent person make!".

Fuc me i thought she was dead!

I've met Cher in person. She's a smart business woman and, in spite of all the trash talk that is said and written about her, she's very nice to people in general. That's how respectable people act, instead of speaking poorly about people they've never met.
PeteM1963 Jan 23rd 2010 9:58PM
Oh... And it's a spectacular house!!! That front gate is a thing of beauty.

Whos the idiot who believes your education has to do with how smart you are??? Lok at the Bushes.

Speaking of a lack of education ... "Anyone who states that she is intelligent shows HER lack of education." (Amazingly stupid comment, but at least get the grammar correct).

Maybe she sold it to get more plastic surgery, one more face lift and her feet won't touch the ground

LOL, Susan! Your post reminds me of a joke that got a radio DJ fired in the 1960s: "If Lucille Ball has one more facelift, she'll be wearing a goatee."

When we went to war without proper equipment, Cher gave concerts and raised money to buy and donate the appropriate head gear to reduce the deaths from head injuries, until the moron who got us into this decided well maybe we do need proper headgear. I know, her generosity saved my grandson's life. She DONATED every dime to equipment for our GIs.
