Sandra Bullock at the 2010 Golden Globes

The Golden Globe Awards are a pleasure to watch, but not nearly as much fun as the preceding red carpet. It's there that we get to see the gowns, the tuxes, and, of course, the jewelry.

Whatever, dresses. Let's talk about diamonds.

The winning ladies of the Golden Globes were:

Sandra Bullock (pictured) for The Blind Side
Meryl Streep for Julie & Julia
Mo'Nique for Precious
Julianna Margulies for The Good Wife
Toni Collette for The United States of Tara
Drew Barrymore for Grey Gardens
Chloë Sevigny for Big Love

Now, let's have a look at their jewelry, shall we? Designers of winners' jewelry included Everlon, Fred Leighton, Buccellati, Lorraine Schwartz and Neil Lane. While we weren't too sure about all of everyone's accessories (we could have done without the costumey details on Drew's dress and drabness of Meryl's belt), the jewelry this year was stunning and demure -- a far cry from last year's statement pieces.

In truth, we miss the giant stones and enormous diamond-encrusted flowers, but we've always had a taste for decadence and excess. The good news is that for those of us not fortunate enough to buy (or be loaned) 40 carat earrings, this year's styles are far easier to emulate for a fraction of the price.

WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT. YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE ANY OF THE DAMNED JEWELRY ON ANY OF THEM. IT'S ALL A MILE AWAY FROM THE CAMERA, AND YOU CAN'T SEE A THING, LET ALONE THE JEWELRY, AND THAT'S WHY I DO NOT WATCH THESE SHOWS, BECAUSE THEY NEVER SHOW ANY OF THEIR REALLY NICE JEWELRY UP REALLY CLOSE SO THE AUDIENCE CAN GET A GOOD CLEAR LOOK AT THEM. IT'S AS IF THEY DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO SEE WHAT JEWELRY THEY ARE WEARING FOR CHRIST SAKE. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS CRAP?

IT MAKES ME REALLY MAD THAT THEY DO NOT SHOW EITHER THE JEWELRY, GOWNS, HAIR, MAKE-UP, ETC., UP CLOSE SO WE CAN SEE IT REALLY GOOD. NOR DO THEY EVEN SAY WHO THE DESIGNERS OR JEWELRY COMPANIES ARE THAT MAKE OR SELL THIS GORGEOUS STUFF, SO WE CAN GET IT TOO. THEY JUST WANT ALL THE REALLY GOOD STUFF FOR THEMSELVES BECAUSE THEY ARE GREEDY, MEAN, JEALOUS, AND SPITEFUL PEOPLE WHO DO NOT REALLY CARE FOR ANYONE OR ANYTHING EXCEPT THEMSELVES. THAT WHY THEY ARE CALL ACTORS, BECAUSE IT’S ALL AN ACT!!!!!!

MAYBE THIS IS WHY HARDLY ANYONE GOES TO SEE MOVIES OR WATCHES TV ANY MORE, BECAUSE HOLLYWOOD HAS GONE TO SHIT. HOLLYWOOD USED TO HAVE “REAL” MOVIE STARS WHO WERE BEAUTIFUL AS WELL AS VERY TALENTED. NOT ANYMORE. GREAT ACTORS ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN THESE DAYS, I DON’T CARE HOW MANY STUPID STATUES THEY BESTOW UNTO THEMSELVES. GEEZ, WHAT A BUNCH OF B.S. YOU DON’T SEE OTHER PEOPLE IN OTHER OCCUPATIONS STANDING AROUND GIVING THEMSELVES AWARDS AND PARTIES EVERY MONTH, FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IMPORTANT AT ALL!! IT’S ALL B.S.. I DON’T KNOW WHERE ALL THESE LOSERS ARE COMING FROM THAT THEY HAVE IN HOLLYWEIRD NOW, BUT THEY NEED TO GET SOME CONTROL AND TURN THINGS AROUND. ALL THAT COMES OUT OF HOLLYWOOD THESE DAYS IS PRETTY MUCH SHIT, PURE SHIT!!.
