Escape Ranch, Estate of the Day

Orrin Ingram, the CEO of Ingram Industries and Ingram Book Company is the owner of today's property, the massive Escape Ranch in Kenansville, Florida. This property is around 13,952 acres fronting U.S. Highway 441 about 40 miles southeast of Orlando. This expansive estate is considered to be one of the finest quail plantations in the southeast. It has been managed for wild quail for many years with no expense spared to maximize populations of wild birds. Across the property well maintained dirt and grass roads provide complete access to the quail courses. The property also offers hunting for trophy quality deer as well as turkey and waterfowl. There are also two ponds on the property.
The six-bedroom lodge is designed with spacious suites and comfortable public areas and currently decorated with all manner of animal trophies. There is also a two-bedroom guest house and staff quarters. The ranch has the capacity to run up to 2000 cows that help to maintain the quail habitat and absorb some of the expenses. The property is being offered turnkey including furnishings, equipment, dogs, livestock, and vehicles for $35 million through Hall and Hall.

Great property. Great setting. Too bad about the poor "animal trophies." There seem to be hundreds of them hanging on the walls and spread all over the floors, hope the owners have enjoyed the "trophies." What a nice cozy feeling to live in. Thank goodness for Kharma.

I'm not pro or anti hunting but having a home full of dead animal heads would creep me out.

That's a massive chunk of land and I can appreciate a huntsman's paradise if done right. I have to concur with the other posters who took note of all the mounted items at this place. A bit morbid for my tastes when its that excessive and goes well beyond just a few mounted bucks or a bear.
The main house or barracks, in reality, doesn't appear to have much architectural or design distinction. It seems to be a bit more utilitarian in nature like an 'executive log cabin'.
In terms of a Southern plantation with significant acreage and largely a purpose as a sportsman's estate I'm reminded of 'Medway Planation' in South Carolina (not far from Charleston) which has been on and off the market for seemingly years. Set on over 6,000 acres that property at least has a considerably significant manor house and a very rich history for it's $25M price tag.

The mounted animal heads are disturbing, but I think that the more disturbing fact is that the property is "sold turnkey including . . . DOGS" Obviously this seller has no respect for animals of any kind!!
