Some brands are running from Tiger Woods as a celebrity endorser but Orlando-based
Corona Cigar Co. is running toward him
offering the golfer $100,000 as a celebrity "smokesperson." The brand is clearly looking for publicity. Owner Jeff Borysiewicz has said that the company doesn't condone anyone's alleged extramarital affairs but welcomes Woods as a potential endorser. Woods has visited Corona in the company of Charles Parker before. Some of Woods' core endorsers including Accenture, Gillette and Gatorade have said they will review their association with the golfer and he won't be playing golf for a little while so perhaps he should take the deal for some running around money.

I LOVE THESE HOLIER THAN THOU PERSONS........."HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE".

This reply is really to STEPHAN.CHRISTIAN, who replied to Ken McCusker. After forgiving the woman taken in adultery, Jesus added "go, and sin no more." He wasn't condoning adultery in any way. He was forgiving her (more than likely not of multiple incidents), and He was telling her never to do it again, which implies forgiveness might not be as easy the next time around. We have to have a standard. Tiger needs to know he's blown that standard out of the water with his behavior, which is reprehensible. That's what people are saying. If he chooses to live this way, he's not a good role model and he shouldn't be put on a pedestal or receive tons of money from endorsements. That would send the message that it's OK to live this way, i.e. there is no standard - just follow whatever selfish motivation you have and who cares about anyone else. I hope he does make a complete change. That would be the best outcome, golf and money and fame aside.

According to the Bible Tiger Woods did nothing wrong. When did God ever punish a man for having more than one woman. If you notice all of God favorites had more than one wife. You guys should read the Bible first before claiming to know everything.
The first instance of polygamy/bigamy in the Bible was that of Lamech in Genesis 4:19: “Lamech married two women.” Several prominent men in the Old Testament were polygamists. Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon, and others all had multiple wives. In 2 Samuel 12:8, God, speaking through the prophet Nathan, said that if David’s wives and concubines were not enough, He would have given David even more. Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines (essentially wives of a lower status), according to 1 Kings 11:3.

Mcbain, that was not a good example, and a little cheap to use the OLD Testament to justify disrespect and pain to a family to satisfy the need of a selfish person. In the OLD testament multiple wives were for procreation (good deal for the guys I'd say) and the wives were mostly WIVES. They knew the deal. As for Mrs Woods she had to find out she was not the only woman in his life by chance. She did not agree to ever-after with a egotistical woman chaser.

Mcbain never heard of the TEN COMMANDMENTS? If you can't read, putz, then see the movie. Always engage your brain before you fart for the whole world to laugh....

They should team him up with Monica Lewinsky.
Corona, Corona !!!

People should get off his back, he is a human being. Must people pointing the finger at him have probably made the same mistakes or worst as we have seen throughout history. For example when Bill Clinton Got caught with Monica Lewinsky all Republicans came pointing the finger at him for getting a BJ ( who doesn't like a good BJ) , Soon after many of those came out soliciting gay sex in bathrooms, sexually harassing gay interns, with gay lovers, extra marital affairs, etc.....Yes, his actions are immoral, yes. But i believe all men can relate to this type of mistake at one time or another in their lives. Tiger's legacy is sports, talent, skill, concentration. His endorsements were due to sports as a sports figure and not as personal role model. Get off his back. He is still the best golfer that ever existed and let the guy deal with his demons, and those of you with demons hiding inside do not point the finger, your demons might just come out. This is not that big of serious comment, but seriously get off his back. Oh and Tigers perfect Job would be to replaced Hugh Heffner at the Playboy Mansion.lol

your wrong... his endorsements include moral ethics... he is a lousy role model

With his sexcapades and success in golf I think any male enhancement product would be a great advertisement from Tiger. It could start off something like this: I had two hole in one's today one on the course the other in my bed.

i teach my chid that a famous ball player, golfer whatever is just as human as the next person. people need to realize that they have lifes as well with mistake whether they are huge or small. a role model is someone who does things the love and understanding not to captialize on it by getting awards at the end of the year. role models come in many shapes and types your best role model is and average everyday person

What a crazy interpretation of the bible. You'll see hundreds of references of owning donkeys -- try putting one now in your back yard. Have you read the 10 commandments lately-- the one about adultry? If you make a promise to be faithful and you aren't-- you are living a lie. Amazingly simple. Make a promise, keep a promise. People do break promises. But it shows total lack of respect for your wife to have her find out in any other way but her husband upfront and honest.
As far as the 100K, he needs 3 more zeros to that number to compare to his Nike and other contracts.

Bill Clinton or Rush Limbaugh are the ones who should be approached by the Corona Cigar Company to tout their cigars.

Now you are seeing Tiger's real worth as an endorser. He might actually have to learn to live on his golfing ability. BTW, King David was punished severely for his affair with Bathsheba. He asked forgiveness and it was given to him, but he still suffered the consequences of his actions, as Tiger will also.
Jennifer Dec 29th 2009 4:11PM
I don't understand why everyone is so upset over the whole Tiger issue or why we are so obsessed with him. Sleeping with multiple partners and cheating on his wife has nothing to do with how he plays golf. He is still an amazing golfer and I have yet to stop buying Tiger woods endorsed products - the gatorade still tastes the same and his Nike line is a good line for real golfers so I see no issue with his picture or name being tied to either. He is a phenominal golfer and what he does in his personal life, is just that - his personal life.
My only issue with this situation is how people are reacting, especially those saying that he is not a good role model for children. He is, if you are the type of parent that raises their children to admire him as a sportsman and not a morale compass. The parents are the ones that should be instilling the appropriate level of morals in their child, not some celebrity that they have never met before. It is one thing to want your children to aspire to the level of athelete that Tiger has become and it is another to have them look up to him as a role model.
