Morgan Freeman Gets A Jet For Christmas

One of our favorite celebrity pilots actor Morgan Freeman has a new toy for the holidays, a fancy new private jet. Gulf News reports that Freeman bought the SJ30 plane which was produced by Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation, a subsidiary of United Arab Emirates-based Emivest. Earlier this year as my colleague Jared Paul Stern reported, the SJ30 set a world speed record from London to Dubai in just 7hr 7 min including a fuel stop in Istanbul. The six-seater can retain sea level cabin pressure at 41,000 ft., reducing jet lag, and can fly more than 2,800 miles nonstop at speeds of up to 630 mph. It sells for approximately $8 million.
Freeman flew the plane from Los Angeles to Dubai to attend a a press conference at the Executive Flight Center at the Dubai Airport Free Zone to announce the sale of the new SJ30 from Emivest to Freeman. The Gulf News article says that Freeman is expected to stay in the UAE until December 27.

Hey, he worked himself up to what he has now, and so have others. I don't care for people who live high and mighty with large amonts of money given to them "though the family" money. But when someone actually works their way up throught life making the money themselves, let them do whatever they want with they earned it. Just like Oprah, she make her own money and lives high on her money, good for her. Then there is that guy (can't remember his name) who owns Virgin Airways, he was a school drop out, not a penny to his name but he had started from scratch and worked his way to where he is now, filty rich. So leave Morgan alone, stop being jealous of others. We all have the same ability to be whatever we want to be in life, you just have to do it.

I'm a white man playing the race card here. You bigots criticizing Morgan Freeman for buying his airplaine probably made no such disparaging comments when John Travolta bought any of his many planes. While you're at it, don't miss any opportunity to make your cockeyed baseless comments about our President who was elected by tens of millions of people who are sick and tired of the absurd crap coming from racists such as you. and the loudmouth talk radio/TV clowns that you worship. Today would be a good day to wash your white sheets that are looking dirtier than ever.

Morgan Freeman earned his money and bought a plane. We shouldn't fault him for that. Now the Obama Administration has an issue with that, afterall, he's one of those greedy private-jet flying folks that need to have their income redistributed to the po' peoples who ain't gots nothin like a private jet. Can you believe with one comment about conventions and private jets, Obama has single-handedly turned Las Vegas into a ghost town. Next time America, THINK before you vote!

I for one thank Mr. Freeman for supporting American workers. There are literally at least a million man hours that were spent bringing this plan to market here in San Antonio. Congrats to Sino!
It's the idiots in congress and the senate that awarded the next Air Force tanker contract to a foreign competitor that should be ashamed of themselves. That contract would have employed thousands of workers (union jobs) over many years. What a waste our government is.

What if he did buy this plane. Have ever checked presents under the tree to see where all of them were made. Not many from the US. Blame out government for sending plants over seas. Then talk about people out of jobs for the holidays.

So much for carbon footprint reduction.
Did anybody call Al Gore?

Is Morgan Freeman a licensed pilot? I wouldn't buy anything I'm not qualified to operate myself.
