Charlize Theron's Kiss Worth $140,000

I haven't heard much lately about Charlize Theron, but she made it back into this news this past week with her part in the OneXOne charity event on October 22 in San Francisco, where she took the stage to auction off a prize that included a two-week trip to her native South Africa to watch soccer's World Cup in summer 2010, a safari, and a meet-and-greet with Nelson Mandela. The winning bidder, a woman, received an extra item for her $140,000 donation -- a kiss with Theron, who had tossed in the offer of a kiss to increase bidding when the offers plateaued at $37,000.
Theron was at the event to help raise money for the Charlize Theron African Outreach Project, which is teaming with the OneXOne Foundation to bring soccer fields and clean water to the children of South Africa by 2010, in time for the World Cup. Theron is in a long-term relationship with actor Stuart Townsend. "My boyfriend is not here tonight," she joked during the auction.

Omg, that was funny D Lang!!! The kiss itself was hot! I mean, Charlize even held the womans face in her hands to make it even more special..Now that's the way to kiss a woman! Go Charlize....I wouldn't even care if she just gave me a peck on the cheek...I would probably faint before she had the chance to kiss me anyway...But, again, great question D!

If I had the money, I could think of no better way to spend it, then to buy a kiss from Charlize Theron. She can look like your next door neighbor or she can look drop dead gorgeous.

You miss the point!
She did not spend the money on a kiss, she spent the money to afford a better life for children in South Africa. The kiss was just a bonus or a perk!
I have seen many stars auction off a kiss for a worthy cause!

No, she spent the money on a kiss. "Theron, who had tossed in the offer of a kiss to increase bidding when the offers plateaued at $37,000." Did you read the story?

You go, girls. Now that woman will have a wonderful story to "kiss and tell," and she donated a great deal of money towards charity to boot. Charlize Theron is not only a talented and versatile actress, but a good sport, with a lot of class.

Hey ... I'm a gay male and if I had the money, I'd spend it to kiss her!
Rierie17 Oct 26th 2009 10:12PM
You are too funny. If you truly are a gay man please don't ever let others make you feel ashamed of who you are. :)

SICK, SICK, SICK WORLD!
Carrie Oct 26th 2009 10:50PM
What's sick about contributing to a cause you believe in? A kiss is no big deal. When all you hear about is the depravity and moral downward spiral of the world we live in, it's does the soul good to see there are still people who care about something. That kiss did more good for more people than most of us have done in ages.
Susan Oct 26th 2009 11:05PM
This is sick? How much money have you raised for charity lately?

It's wonderful that Charlize Theron and others are doing so much to
help the children of South Africa. Some actress' even adopt African
children. How truly amazing. I guess there are no children in America
that need permanent homes and we have all the sports equipment and other
physical things American children need already so there's no need to
spend any of that money in America taking care of American children's needs. God forbid the notion. It might even save or create a job for an American.

Bravo, could'nt have said it better..................
brucemitchell821 Oct 26th 2009 10:58PM
joe, your stupid and ignorant, she is from South Africa.

Some people understand that reaching out beyond boundries provides hope for world peace.
Some people .... do not understand.
That is sad as well as selfish.
Jacks_Teddy_Bear Oct 27th 2009 2:14AM
You are REALLY stupid and ignorant Joe! Because...Yes...There are children right here in the good old U.S. of A that need homes and alot of children are going without thing's but, we have so much more here than they do over there. Africa is a third world country and I say, "BRAVO!," to the actresses and actor's that adopt children from third world countrie's because now those children will have a much more better life than they were having in Africa.
