Frette Launches Bridal Registry

Brides get your wish lists ready, Frette, the Italian maker of high-quality linens, has created a wedding registry which recently launched both online and in stores. Now affianced couples can select from linens, home accessories, Frette to Wear for men and women, bath and the Essentials Collection. Upon registration the bride and groom will receive their own personalized his and hers embroidered Frette100% Egyptian cotton terry robes. For every $5,000 worth of purchases off your registry you will receive a $500 gift card. After one year, Frette will offer a one time savings of 10 percent on the remaining items in your registry.
Last month I attended the FRETTE Beverly Hills Designer Event on Rodeo Drive checking out bedrooms designed by Barbara Lazaroff, Mark Cutler and Martyn Lawrence-Bullard Furniture (a few pictures in the gallery below). As a parting gift, Frette was handing out a set of linen napkins (shown after the jump). One commenter chosen at random will receive the napkins, just leave me a note with your tip for an elegant table.

Tip #1: For a more intimate feeling, light creme-white candles in cristal holders.
Tip #2: Add something for the decor, such as flowers, plants, fun-little salt/pepper shakers, decorative place holders.
Tip #3: Use all white or creme colors, silver, and present the napkins on the plates or beside folded in half or shaped like a tent.
Thank you.

NEVER, NEVER use more than one color! Only use white linens, plates, and crystal and use your color for your flowers. Use a small, intimate size vase and keep the flowers below your eye level, preferrably cut at the vase level. Use more arrangements than 1 gigantic one in the center. Nothing is worse than people dogding a huge centerpiece of flowers during dinner. Also, remember to use your sideboard for decorations too. Just remember to use the same color.Take a large hurricane lamp and fill with lemons if your using yellow. Be creative. Use marbles, use small seashells, use rose petals or candy. Just remember...the same COLOR.

While there are some great, and standard, tips mentioned here, there truly is only one thing needed for an elegant experience at table: a good guest. Someone who arrives prepared with conversation, generosity of spirit, and good humour.
Of course, Frette napkins don't hurt either.
Cheers.

Keep the colors and lines of settings (silver, plates, stemware) timeless and classic and use organic matter like flowers, fruit, leaves, etc. to bring in seasonal texture.
The most important things, however, are to focus on providing excellent food, beverage, and, most importantly, company. Ask people afterward what they remember, and I doubt it will be the centerpiece.

Don't use paper napkins, paper plates, etc.
