Review: Puppy Hugger Two's Company Luxury Pet Bed

It's full of cat fur now. It's been obsessively shop-vaced clean, but when something is as comfortable as the Puppy Hugger's pet beds, you're not going to keep sybaritic animals away. Of course, I had to wrest it from the clutches of my children first. They thought it made a fine television-watching lounge pillow. Yes, that's right, the bed is made by The Puppy Hugger, and we used it for cats and kids, not a canine in sight. That doesn't change the fact that it's a super-luxurious pet bed with a great design.
The Two's Company bed that my lounge-tastic kitties are trying out has two hollows in the middle that will hold smaller dogs, and of course cats, in hammock-like comfort. The deeply padded sides of the bed give animals something to snuggle up against, a posture that's comforting to many stripes of beast. Covered in a variety of very soft faux fur, and filled with polyester fiber that's marshmallow soft, the handmade beds cuddle your pets when you can't. Don't be offended if Muffy starts to prefer it over your lap.
Continued after the jump.

Some other luxury pet beds have more to them - a frame the mattress fits into, often fashioned from materials that would look at home as fine furniture. The Puppy Hugger beds are a little simpler to make portability possible, so that your pets can find comfort if you travel together. Since its all of a piece, it's easy to keep neat and clean, and it's machine washable for easy cleaning.

While a household with two dogs will find the Two's Company bed a pretty compact thing, for two cats, it's the equivalent of pushing a couple king-size Tempur-pedics together. Not that they're complaining, and it's about as compact as you're going to get for this kind of bed. Imagine the space one of those big wood and brushed metal things must suck up. Puppy Hugger beds are available in many sizes, from Chihuahua to Newfoundland, so it's likely that your pet will find a good fit.
The beds themselves are hand made at Puppy Hugger HQ in Connecticut, and there's lots of other products to keep your pets comfy and pampered. The quality of our trial unit is high - handmade perfection, if you will. The price for this Two's Company bed is $179, which is far more reasonable from other luxe pet beds, sometimes by quite a large margin. When it comes to pampering the little guys who improve our lives so much, it seems like a very insignificant price. Our little furballs raise the quality of our life immeasurably, and why shouldn't the be richly rewarded for that?

As any cat owner can attest, the fuzzy little mouse-eaters will find a bed in the strangest of places. You'll reach to grab that bathrobe that's been folded up on the corner shelf to find it's awfully heavy, warm, and purring. Simply put, cats will find a bed anywhere. Might as well serve both masters - give your pet a properly comfortable place to sleep, and keep them out of your other nice things. Take our advice, though; when your Puppy Hugger bed arrives, hide it from the children, or order them one of their own. After all, they're little animals, too.
