Steve McQueen Ranch, Estate of the Day
Steve McQueen didn't live too long in this 15-acre ranch in Santa Paula, California but it does reflect a bit of the spirit of the King of Cool. McQueen and his third wife, Barbara Minty moved to the ranch in 1979 and were married in the home's living room in January 1980, sadly, McQueen died later that year. This ranch includes an 1892 house with unique details like stained glass windows and vintage fireplaces. The home has been updated since McQueen's time at the ranch and has a new kitchen and wine room. Some rooms, however, still look in need of a bit of a refresher.
The ranch's property includes three acres of Syrah vineyards, fruit trees, an equestrian facility and an airplane hanger where McQueen once kept his extensive car and motorcycle collection and his biplane. This property is listed at $1.95 million.

the house looks ok. but some of the picture's of the property I would say the place is a dump for that asking price.Were I'm from 15 acre's isnt a ranch.

It looks unkept-green slimy pond, no watering or plant maintenance being done, and the house has potential but is really outdated inside. Didn't see the equestrian facility in any pic, either. Nice Arabian w/ foal though~

I still love you Steve and the house is nothing without your beautiful blue eyes and great smile. You were the greatest!! We MISS you! The property is a one of a kind and not easily replaced.

It was a Ranch to McQueen and his wife, it has the vineyards, fruit trees and the horses. Above all it's in Santa Paula, California. Out there that could be what they call a ranch. What does a ranch have to look like to be one?

The home shows great bones ~ it has super personality and for the person looking for a piece of property that will give you back far more is worth the price. There are some areas that need attention however for the person who will truly love its quaintness will have a diamond in the rough. The stained glass offered as well as the high exposed beam ceilings are amazing!! I would love the opportunity to decorate this home!!! The outdoor living room is spectacular and just begs you to come and enjoy...the vineyard,garden and orchard are just a bonus!! Someone could make this a retreat and never want to leave the property!

"Steve McQueen Days" are celebrated every March. Author Marshall Terrill is writing his third book regarding the life of Steve McQueen and will be published soon.

You know that house shows that Steve was a man amoung men. Considering how big of a star he was that house is considered modest. A star today of his status would have to have 20 bedrooms, 15 baths, ect, ect. I think the interior is great. 50 years old is way to young to die. Green in the Koi pond, give me a break, big fing deal. Wish I had the money and ability to get that piece of American history. God Bless you Steve.

People who only see the negative in things need to use the rule of " If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything". I think it's a very nice place, and the pond isn't as green as it looks, it's the angle of the picture. Steve was a great guy, and will always be missed.

What a gorgeous home, beautiful, elegant and real American, really lovely- and it seems very reasonably priced too, considering all the land etc. During a time when a lot of celebrities like all that glitzy stuff, he and his wife had excellent taste and it looks very like Steve McQueen to want to live in those surroundings too. He made me swoon in all his films - beautiful eyes and all and yes, so very cool! I miss not seeing more films that he could have made and such a shame he died so young. Its sad to know he doesnt live there anymore. RIP - great actor.

Steve McQueen was the man! This place could be fixerd up really easy and has great potential Not to mention the privacy from allt he other assholes on the planet. If I could Id buy it right now and turn the huge barn into a full covered shop

where are you guys from? In Washington, DC area a 3 bedroom rambler with no land goes for $500,000. this ranch sounds like a steal

Hi! I think in my 74 years I have seen almost All / tryied to see Mr. McQueen's movies. What he did with his personal /property Should, be his business. As one person said," I was probably the broker's responsablety. It not proper to talk bad of the dead." Mr McQueen was and always be a Great guy in my opinion. The house itself is great. How the house is currently decorated is really unattractive and does the house no justice. Too much crap in the house and it hides the original beauty. This house would look best empty and stripped any furniture or let some one in who knows what to do with vintage homes come in for a make over.
Steve Mc Queen is still one of the sexiest men of all time..... along with Paul Newman. They not only exuded natural senuality but they were fine actors. When you saw Newman and Mc Queen, you really believed they were the character they played until you saw them in their next role.
Do yourself a favor and rent "Bullet" or "The Great Escape" or any other of Mc Queen's old movies.
