Nicolas Cage's Bel-Air Home Scheduled For Auction
Nic Cage really wants to unload his Bel-Air home. The LA Times reports that home, which was most recently listed at $17.5 million will be auctioned in a sealed-bid sale scheduled for September 24. The house, which was once listed as high as $35 million can be had for as low as the minimum bid of $9.95 million. Cage bought the home over 10 years ago for around $7 milllion.There's lots to love about this home. The 1940 mansion is Old Hollywood at it's most grandiose and has also been owned by Tom Jones and Dean Martin. It has six bedrooms, a theater, wine cellar and library. An acre of grounds includes a swimming pool and an outdoor kitchen with a brick oven.

As an aside I never did see anything further on Cage's sale of the Middletown, RI mansion, The Gray Craig, which has been listed as sold last month via the Lila Delman site.
When playing the game of musical chairs, or rather real estate flipper, it's best not to get stuck with inventory purchased at the height of silliness. After the taxes, upkeep, improvements, brokers fees et al I suspect he'll loose money on this as he did the RI estate.
As for this property in Bel-Air I actually like it for its composition, materials, layout and creative design not so much the color choices inside or decor which goes away with the previous owner anyhow.

Actually that Rhode Island home is still listed, at a new lower price, it's now down to just $12 million. I heard about the sale too but I think a deal fell through. http://www.liladelman.com/property-details.asp?id=2771

From the outside....such a stately home. From the inside it looks like a bad morning after a psychedelic nightmare. However....if that large Mickey Mouse is an indication that there might be a few Goofys hanging around, I'll offer $11.02 for whatever is available.

Beautiful mansion, not including the decor. Try and buy the property, build a mansion of this caliber and put in the landscaping for 10 million.

looks like that was decorated by a blindfolded 7 year old with a box of crayola crayons.......how can you ever imagine it being yours when you look at that mess?.....its no wonder it cant sell...outside however looks lovely

Being a Feng Shui practitioner for the past 10 years and after going through thevoluminous picture spread, Nicholas Cage's home is not selling because of the water feature at the front of the house and in the circular drive.

Wow, this house is decorated like an old, elderly couple lives in it with grand kids who just got back from their first vacation to Disney Land. I love Nicolas Cage but do not care for his decorating ability or lack of...hope he is able to sell it soon.

It may sell if he removed all the furniture. The contents are disgusting. It has a lot of "old world craftmanship" if you like that sort of thing.

After 103 pictures the lasting feeling is that it is a magnificient home with astounding windows and gracious rooms. The red, green and purple are a little hard to live with I would think but paint and wallpaper remover could reveal a warm family residence.

OMGB!!! I loved Nick Cage b4 but now that I have seen his house I love him more!! It is beautiful outside and in. I would live there in half a heart beat!! It exudes style and impecable taste!! The colors and fabrics are warm and inviting. The rest of you crack heads that thinks it is garish are beyond retarded.

The house itself is magnificent, with the parquet and hardwood floors, wood paneling, and the pressed tin and molded ceilings. The windows are also wonderful. There isn't anything wrong with this house that a mega yard sale and some paint won't fix. Except maybe for the red marble in one bathroom. And that gold-and-green bathroom has got to go!
