Calling All Cognac Experts, Answer This Question

A reader recently had a question on the value of this cognac. I asked a few people but was unable to get any information so I'm hoping Luxist's audience can help me determine both what it's worth and where to sell it. I've already contacted a couple of major auction houses and a liquor store or two and had no luck. What we know is that it is Michael Camus Cognac Royale in a Baccarat crystal decanter along with an invention to the winery in France. The owner has provided larger pictures which are in the gallery below. Please share any information you can in the comments.

Well we can assume it is an XO, why else would you put it in a Baccarat vessel? there are a few on eBay for around $700US, and while they too are bottled in a Baccarat decanter, they are not of the same design, and are labeled "Grand Marque" - not sure if this is higher grade or lower grade than your "Michel Royale" but I would assume the "Grand Marque" to be lower, if only for etymology.
Empty bottles can be had for around $300US online.
A duty-free site in the Ukraine is offering one (full, baccarat, boxed) for 1500EU.
That's the best I can come up with for now...

(including the story how the product ended up in Baccarat) Sorry for the long link, I didn't think you would appreciate it if I shortened it.

This Baccarat bottle can be found on a taiwanese website for 88,000 TWD (around 2,700$) though I have no idea if this can be considered as its real price on the market: http://www.p9.com.tw/Wine/ProductList.aspx?BrandId=278&WineTypeId=3

This is one of the top-of-the-line products from CAMUS. It is a blend of eaux-de-vie initially created by the third generation of the House of Camus, Michel, for his own consumption.
After his passing in 1985, his son Jean-Paul decided to commemorate Michel's achievements by releasing a few baccarat decanters each year, containing the same blend as the one his father so liked to drink and share with his friends.
Michel Camus Royale, as this product is called, is still available in a very limited number of outlets around the world, more specifically in Duty-Free shops at key international airports.
Its current retail value is around USD 2,000 (duty-free).
It does carry, with each bottle, an invitation to visit us in Cognac, including dinner and cognac (!) at our Chateau.
I hope this is the kind of information you were looking for.
Best Regards,
Cyril Camus
