Val Kilmer No Longer Selling In New Mexico

Earlier this year Val Kilmer put his Pecos River Ranch in New Mexico on the market for $33 million but maybe he didn't mean it. A report in the New Mexico Independent in which Kilmer said that he would not be running for governor of the state also referenced the fact that his ranch was up for sale. The state has been buzzing about the possibility of Kilmer as a gubernatorial candidate for months especially after a controversial statement he made in Rolling Stone magazine that said he lived in "the homicide capital of the Southwest."
In a video interview with KOB-TV Kilmer said that when he put the ranch up for sale he was not planning to leave the state. Kilmer said that he only listed the whole ranch to "try and attract a business partner for an idea I have about a sustainable, off-the-grid community." Back in 2006 he had also offered an 1,800 acre parcel of the ranch for $18 million. The property appears to be off the market but you can still visit as a paying guest.
The ranch has its own website and offers stays in several one-bedroom casitas for $200 per person a night double occupancy. The ranch is located approximately 22 miles northeast of Santa Fe. The ranch has ample wildlife including deer, elk, bear and hawks. It has a trail system that snakes throughout the property and a variety of hikes are available. Horseback riding and mountain biking tours can be arranged. The ranch is located along a seven-mile stretch of the Pecos River which offers great opportunities for fishing.

This is really nice. Too bad he couldn't get any interest in the sustainable living concept.

Is it just me or does ne1 else think Val Kilmer is fat?

Hey,
Val Kilmer da man! I mean look the part he got in that class B western, playing dead for the entire movie. lol

Maybe he's not selling it because "he doesn't own it!", it is obviously a "County Contracted Property Management Operation", "Nobody Owns Ranches!", that is strictly "Government-Owned and Zoned Property". You might catch him and the "County Council" attempting to "Take a bribe" to transfer someone else into the "Property Managment Contract" but if you ask for a "Private Deed" you won't get one!

Are you stupid??? No one owns ranches??? It's a large tract of land. It's not a federal reserve, or government property. It's just a piece of land.

"Holy cow fella"... "take it easy" on the "quotation marks"...

Dereck is stupid! Yes you can own private ranches! My brother's wife's family own 5 of them with the largest one in New Mexico down in the Southeast corner. It's the largest Ranch in that state and one of the largest in the US. the "Nan Y-".
They have owned it since 1928. The State is even paying them to not sell off any property cause they want to keep the land together.

You and you brothers wife are a bunch of liars, I can tell you truthfully none of you have ever been near a Ranch. You don't even have a brother winch! You need to seek more education down there in Sarasota!

When Kilmer bought up all that land in San Isidro and erected the 10 foot high chain link fence around the whole place he did nothing more than create a giant eyesore. He should have stayed in Tesuque with his then wife. Loser, I can't forgive him for his rotten portrayal of Jim Morrion in 1999.
He's no Patrick Swayze, who also lives nearby and is a nice guy to know.

He put the ranch up for sale to attract a business partner? That probably means a guy with a lot of money and no input. But if you want a guy with lots of ideas an little cash, I'm you're man! I love the Off-The Grid sustainable lifestyle. I'n not so much "Green" as "Cheap" or as they say in Scotland, "Thrifty"! But if he's just looking for another rich celeb type maybe Brad Pit is tired of Africa. Or perhaps he can combine his ranch with Mike Nesmith's! Though I'm sure his cash flow has been severly impacted by the decline in Monkees Reunions and use of Liquid Paper. ; )

He should mow his lawn.

You must be looking for a "Property Management Scheme" yourself or apart of one already! I can tell you know nothing about land, do you even own any or have a Mortgage? I seriously doubt you do. Like I said, find someone with a "Ranch" or a "Farm" and ask them to show you a "Land Deed" in their name. I know that like I know your phone number is (368)306-3687 DUMMY!

It's wonderful to see this part of you. I enjoy visiting this website just to get away from the down loads of life. I can't believe what people have said, or have written in about you or your property that you own. I hope by opening up your ranch to the public it will draw not only tourists to New Mexico but will open other oppurtunities as well. Such as, river rafting, kayaking, inner tube lounge lizards down the pecos, quad runners, hunting, possibly a small shopping area resembling the old west capturing the ambiance. Oh my imagination is just getting carried away with me. That area outside the dining room over looking the river.... should this really be a successful venture? You might think of a patio decking, and fencing where the edge of the cliff is to protect you and the guests. Gotta no me. Enjoy them.
