Keyshawn Johnson's Big Home Improvement Bills
Former NFL player Keyshawn Johnson has become the latest sports player to end up in financial trouble. TMZ reports that a construction company, Gordon S. Gibson, Inc. has filed a lien on Johnson's Calabasas, California home. The company claims that he owes $1,115,500 for "supervision and construction of the Johnson residence." Johnson earned millions in the NFL and is now a sports broadcaster. The lien has been gaining 10 percent annual interest since January 14.An LA Times article from 2007 gives a little insight into Johnson's keen interest in home decor and highlights his taste for designer high end finishes. The article is a namedropping festival rich with names like Eames, Philippe Starck and Armani Casa. For Johnson, according to the article, the ideal is to have a home offering the cool comfort of a W or Ian Schrager hotel. At that time Johnson was considering a post-football career as a "tastemaker" possibly with a boutique hotel or two of his own.

Another story of a professional sports person's inability to manage their money. They go nuts in the beginning thinking the well will never go dry. They deserve to lose it all. They love to fly high, big houses, big cars, fine clothes and "OPPS" the party is over. Stupid idiots

Keyshawn has appeared to be a passionate class-act from the very moment he came on the spot light. His football coverage is excellent and I greatly admire his ability to co-host with so many other bright spots from the NFL. There's something suspicious about this article insomuch that it frames out KJ as financially in trouble or he's lived far over his head. I hope not. I never, but ever comment on celebrities, and, in fact, I never commented on anyone up to this point. But I was compelled to say this. If this particular celebrity decided to discontinue to perform on his financial contract for services rendered, which it appears was the case, why don't the writers of this feature make that obvious? Yes, I probably wouldn't have given this comment - but, I'm not important. Neither me nor Keyshawn need or require negative publicity, especially at a time when our banking community has nearly put our entire national community in bankruptcy. Here’s a man that truly speaks to the heart of his admirers and followers and here you are finding a way to tank him. You’re simply an idiot that needs a job and does it best by seeking out the celebrities you are most jealous of. I wish I were wrong – but I’m nearly positive I’m not. Just clean it up. Freddie

Unfortunately I know for a fact that KJ owes this amt. and more. In addition he has lied , stalled and issued bad checks in order to avoid paying not only the construction co. but sub contractors , who are just small business people and need the funds owed to live on. JJ
