Whoopi Goldberg In New York City, Estate of the Day
Whoopi Goldberg is taking advantage of "The View" summer break to put her New York City co-op up for sale. The NY Post's Cindy Adams dished that Goldberg has is selling her two-bedroom loft in SoHo. The home on Wooster Street takes up a full floor. Goldberg is a collector, perhaps even a little bit of a packrat but the result is a home that must be fascinating to wander in person. She has covered the long white walls of the main space with paintings. The kitchen is open and faces a long plank dining table. Even the ceiling fans are distinctive. The space has an unfinished look with pipes overhead, exposed brick and a few columns. The loft has a second kitchen area that seems to be used as an open laundry room. The co-op shares a common roof deck and there are two private storage bins in the basement. It is listed at $3.9 million with a monthly maintenance of $3,522.[via Cityfile]

This is a cool and quirky place!

Not a huge fan of the place. I like simple and modern though so I knew I wouldn't like a place of Whoopi's. Love her though.

Pergo floors in a multi-million dollar home? Those are not real wood they look too plasticky and like all one piece.
The other thing is the washer and dryer being visible to guests in the living room. I could never afford something like this but jeez, if you've got the money don't get a floating floor.
Those things are like walking on a trampoline and they feel cheap under the feet like linoleum that has bubbled up at your grandmothers house.
To be clear I mean the wood floors in the last picture.

In the living room I think too, that light wood with no imperfections is also too much of a contrast to the plank floors in the one bedroom and the knotted wood floors in the foyer/sitting area picture.
Is Whoopi Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs?

I wonder what the square footage is? Seems to be quite wide, and at least there are lots of windows and lots of light. Eclectic, but nothing a good interior designer couldnt handle.
