It was a great day in the early April when my sister and I and grandson decided to take a trip to Florida to explore and enjoy the sites to see there. We flew done of course, then rented a car and traveled parts of Florida from Orlando to Sarasota. We enjoyed the scenerly, stopped at restaurants, local sites and did some go cart riding, water parks, puttin golf parks, the ocean-what a sigh to see there. We even got a room right on the Atlantic ocean and stood in the waves and tried a little boogy boarding too. Great fun. Shopped the shops, went to the Daytona car racing track and the whole tour of it. Great excitement. We went to Disneyland and went through various parts of the park in only 2 days. We stopped a Bush Gardens and went on the crocodile tour rides too. We ate some great meals at some simple little town stops where the food was simple but great, home cooked feeling. We drove to Tampa and saw some sights there also and then went on to Sarasota to stop and visit with my mother. It was a great 2 weeks of just running around and being free to see whatever we wanted the whole time. We would love to do this again in another part of the county in another state. What better way to see everything, but by car. Susan Zitzler

For almost the entire time I was married to my late husband he wanted me to see the northern lights in Alaska. Since he was at sea in the US Navy most of our lives together I never got to go. I would just once be able to see them. I currently live in the DC area so I guess I would fly into Washington state, and then drive until I found the Northern Lights. I have seen pictures but have been told that a picture doesn't really show what it is like.

Wow...memories! Best road trip ever was a college friend of mine and I driving from GA to TX to visit the third of our group. Granted it was a short trip, but still a blast. Beautiful weather the whole way...we both had a foot sticking out the window (my left leg got pretty sunburned). Had extensive discussions about the position of the sun ("that's more of a 1 o'clock sun than a 4 o'clock sun"). Made great time through Mississippi, then taking forever to get through Louisiana (a "portly state"). Chain smoking (back when we both smoked) for 15 hours straight each way (my lungs hated me for weeks after!). 8 empty liter bottles of Mountain Dew in the back seat and only 4 potty breaks. Being pulled over in TX (officer was suspicious of us because we had "alot of shoes for just a weekend" - 12 pair is perfectly reasonable for a weekend - right ladies?!?). And of course...the mark of every great road trip...the MIX TAPE! Ohhhh...good times! So much fun. Don't think I'll ever have a road trip as awesome as that one, but I'd love the challenge!
