Sunday Real Estate Round-Up, 06/21/09

From the Wall Street Journal's Private Properties:
--Billionaire philanthropist and art collector Eli Broad cut the price of his home on New York's Fifth Avenue to $10.95 million. It was first listed at $15 million last August. The listing is still on the website but the agent says the apartment on the 33rd floor of the Sherry-Netherland Hotel is off the market.
--On the French Riviera, a real-estate developer and his wife are asking 38.5 million euros for a home in Cap D'Ail. The home has Mediterranean views and includes seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, two terraces, gardens and two pools. The property website for Villa Shambala is here.
--Wealthy Hong Kong businessman and philanthropist Eric Hotung has put his magnificent unit in the Osborne in New York City up for sale for $3.99 million. The unit in a building which is one of our NYC favorites has some beautiful additions including a jade onyx entryway.

--Jon Gosselin has been spotted apartment shopping at the Trump Place in New York City.

From Cityfile's Buyers & Sellers:
--Goldman Sachs chairman and CEO Lloyd Blankfein and his wife Laura have put their old apartment at 941 Park Avenue on the market. The five-bedroom duplex is listed for $15 million.
--via the NY Observer, Raymond Weil president Benny Shabtai has cut the price of his townhouse at 870 Park Avenue. The townhouse was once listed as high as $33 million but is now priced at $17.5 million.
--Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. has gone into contract to sell his East Village apartment. It was most recently priced at $899,000.
--via Curbed, Billy Joel may be buying two of the three townhouses currently under construction at 26 Downing Street.
--via Page Six, Renée Zellweger has moved out of 240 Central Park South and is now planning to move to a brownstone on the Upper East Side.
--Calypso founder Christiane Celle and her husband, photographer Antoine Verglas, have cut the price of their penthouse at 129 Lafayette Street. The four-bedroom apartment went on the market for $13.99 million in January and is now priced at $9.65 million. The listing is here.
--G. Kelly Martin, CEO of the drugmaker Elan and the former president of Merrill Lynch's International Private Client Group, has lowered the price of his duplex at 1040 Fifth Avenue. Martin and wife Elizabeth Ann paid "between $2 million and $2.5 million" for the home in 1994. It was originally listed at $12.9 million in February but is now listed at $10.2 million.
--Keith Olbermann lives on the 40th floor at Trump Palace but he recently paid $810,000 for a 7th floor apartment in the same building.
--via the Real Deal, real estate developer Andrew Heiberger has cut the price on his townhouse at 161 East 63rd Street. He bought it for $8.15 million in 2004 and put on the market for $16.85 million in February but it is now listed for $14.85 million.
--via the Real Deal, another apartment up for sale at the River House. KKR partner Alexander Navab has put his four-bedroom apartment on the market for $24.5 million.
--Publishing heir Robert Ziff has cut the price on his three-bedroom condo at the Trump International. He bought the unit for $5 million back in 2001 and put it on the market for $13 million in July 2008. It's now listed for $11.5 million.
--Vogue creative director Grace Coddington has sold her West Village apartment to Josephine de la Baume, the model, actress and girlfriend of Mark Ronson, who paid $1.45 million for the apartment.
--Roxanne Quimby, co-founder of Burt's Bees, has picked up a one-bedroom apartment for $1.025 million in the Printing House building at 421 Hudson Street.

--Jessica Alba and her family are doing some serious house hunting in New York City. Most recently they were spotted checking out penthouses at the Fairchild, a 21-unit TriBeCa building. Model Adriana Lima has also been spotted looking in the building.
--The Novogratz family who already have two properties for sale are also looking to put a new penthouse on the market for $4 million. It is part of a six-story, 25-foot-wide townhouse owned by design writer Sue Hostetler, who plans to live with her family in the first four floors of the townhouse while selling the top two. The Novogratz family, who are also working on a reality TV show, are developing the two-floor home as well as working on a 24-room boutique hotel on the North Jersey shore.
--Irish investor Derek Quinlan has just dropped the price of his Upper East Side townhouse from $37 million to $32 million. The listing is here.
