What Will Be The Future Of The Llenroc Estate?

One of my favorite commenters Spectacular Bid let me know about the sad situation of the Kolath Mansion, a property we've covered before as the Llenroc Estate in Rexford, New York. The home, which was listed at $12.9 million in 2007 was recently on the market for $30 million.
But last week, the owner Mathai Kolath George, his son George Kolath, and St. Mary's Hospital doctor Krishnan Raghavan were killed when their small plane crashed just after takeoff. George was licensed as a student pilot by the Federal Aviation Administration and owned the plane and Raghavan was a certified commercial pilot and certified instructor. Investigations into why the plane went down are ongoing. What will happen to this property is unclear currently.

Yes, it is a sad story. But c'mon, the house is hideous! That open staircase is the height of bad taste! Was a licensed architect even involved? Sorry, if it were to be torn down, it would be a end to the family's dreamhouse, but one less blight to mar the landscape.

George Kolath never owned it. It is owned by a commodities trader from Boston. Kolath put up a B.S. website offering it for $30M. The true owner would probably take $5M at this point.
$2M in updating and another $1.5M in furnishings would make this place incredible.
