Blu Quartett Watch

I am not totally sure what the "Quartett" name means, but this watch does have four complications (hours, minutes, seconds, and date). Otherwise take the quirky name as part of this quirky brand and you have the very cool Blu Quartett (makes me think of jazz music). This watch is very unusual for the brand - and is totally new for them. Functionally it is a new take on the regulator watch. Instead of using the main dial for the minutes, it uses it for the seconds and places the minutes on a retrograde scale on the lower half of the movement. You have the "open" date window - that I don't really like, but does help balance out the design and symmetry of the watch.

Style is overall simple, and it is the few flamboyant features of the watch that really make the look something special. You know it is a Blu watch when you see the standard cylindrical lugs. The case is available in 18k rose or white gold, and actually also in stainless steel. The case is 42mm wide and a relatively thin 13mm thick. The movement is the automatic Blu calibre BL704 visible through the sapphire caseback window. The raised retrograde scale gives the watch an interesting three dimensional look that I have a feeling will be unique, while the engraved texture on the dial is well done in a retro manner.
