Stephen Baldwin Headed For Foreclosure
Actor Stephen Baldwin has been on TV braving the Costa Rican jungle and Speidi in "I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here!" but he's facing some drama on the homefront too. Baldwin's home in Upper Grandview, New York will be put up for public auction on June 24 at Rockland County Court. Baldwin and his wife, Kennya, defaulted on paying $824,488.36 to mortgage holder Bankers Trust Co.Baldwin bought the home for $515,000 back in 1997 and restored it. He had it on the market in 2006 for $3.4 million but took it off the market when it failed to sell. At the time it was said that Baldwin put his house on the market because of his frustration with a sex shop that had opened in his neighborhood but Page Six said that the real reason the born-again Christian put the home one the market was because he was in need of cash and owed back taxes. The sex shop changed plans after facing public pressure led by Baldwin.
LoHud.com reports that Bankers Trust will receive the first $824,488.36 brought in by the auction, followed by National City and taxing agencies, according to the county foreclosure papers, which were filed in late April. Listing pics from back in 2006 are in the gallery below.

UPDATE: Baldwin's rep told People that the situation will be resolved and no auction will take place.

Being a Christian is NOT a political statement.

TO GIGI: First of all, what atrocious spelling? What makes you think this Baldwin should speak with your son? From what you wrote, it sounds to me as if your son is no different. Your son signed a mortgage he can barely pay, (a sensible person makes allowances for the good and bad times. In your own words, a total lack of responsibility)! Apparently he was addicted to drugs or alcohol (although if he's truly clean and sober for five years, that is respectable). I think it's time to open your eyes as well, even from here it's easy to see you're son is gay. That, however, should not make a bit of difference to you, and you should love him all the same. Gay or straight, he is the same person, it's his sexual preferences that are different. Best of luck to him with his mortgage, perhaps you may want to lend him a hand?

Baldwin is such a hypocrit. His brother Alec is so much better an actor. Little Stephen couldnt get on tv anymore so all he has to do is say he is born again, throw Godsd name around, slap people he HATES in the face with the bible and mix a little but of "gay people are going to hell" and voila your back on tv. Im sure his family will help him!

He probably owns another home and I guess he's ducking his responsibility by letting this house simply, "go away." This is the problem with our economy and this way of thinking attitude is why we have big stimulus and big tax. I really think there should be a law against ownership of multiple homes as well.

Marcus~ It's always funny to me when one claims to be a Christian and acts like an ass. Hiding behind the word does not make one a Christian. I believe actions speak volumes over words.

Stop bashing God people! He is not the reason why this guys house is being foreclosed. This guy bought a house way too big and it is his own fault for losing it. As for him being a Christian, this man is NOT a Christian! Anyone can "pray" and pretend to be a Christian. Christian's don't get tattoos after being born again because if they actually read the Bible, they would read that it says tattoos are wrong in Leviticus 19:28.

What a greedy SOB he is.. Paid $515K for it and didn't get 3.4M so he takes it off market.. Try pricing it correctly and it would have sold and he would have his 515K instead of losing it in a foreclosure..

Omg...that house is not worth 3.4 mil. Couldn't he borrow money from Alec? He's rolling in dough.

The thing that cracks me up is that these celebrities are allowed to get away with owing hundred of thousands before the bank starts talking default and forclosure! You try being even one month late with one payment and see what your bank does! What a double standard!
