Just proves that no one in washington represents we the people, that we have taxation without representation !! That our government stole $800 billion from the american tax payers when most of the people told there rep's to vote no and they did not. That people are being forced out of there homes with no one helping them. that there are no jobs that our government is doing nothing to start to deport all illeagles and there familys amounts to treason!!!!!!!!!!

This had got to be probably one of THE most inane headlines ever. BAC boasting the opening of its Ritz in the face of the very people it screwed??? Talk about the heights of audacity. What a terrifically ill-timed and awful example of conspicuous consumption of the rich and entitled who have bought and sold media and now attempts to shove it down our overtaxed throats. BAC ought to have its dirty laundry aired in public as the counter offensive. These idiots have no shame. Run from BAC... as fast as you possibly can. run.

Instead of spending all that money on a hotel for thier executives.... why not spend the money to train thier employees better? 50% of the company are new hires that dont know anything and screw up your account... and the other 50% are rude and dont care.

I think it would be a wonderful idea for all the families that BOA has foreclosed on and thrown in to the street. To make it a point to be at the grand opening of BOA's 20 Billion dollar glorious green hotel, on opening day.
20 Billion dollars could have kept a few hundred families in their homes. And BOA built two of these hotels. This one, and one in St. Augustine FL. So, at least $40 Billion plus for these two hotels. What the hell, does BOA need to build 2 hotels for anyway? So they can write them off as a loss?
Donovan May 29th 2009 2:59PM
Jack,
The standards for green hotels, that are built in humid warm climates would be, mold and mildew.
Not Biting May 29th 2009 3:10PM
Jerkoff article. Only Ritz Carlton can "open up" a Ritz Carlton, folks. Why are you believing this stupid article. One corporation ( B of A ) cannot "open up" a hotel/business of another corporation's. Duhhhhhhh. Next McDonalds will open a WalMart.....get a grip!

bank of america stinks. get your money out and they will have to re-think there policy of charging high fees. small "main street" banks is the way to go,
they don't pay millions in comp. fees to there executive and your neighbors work there, so you support the local work force, not somebody in india

I left boa after I paid my card off in full, called twice that month to make sure it had a zero balance. Received a few pieces of junk mail, tore them up. Turned out it wasn't junk mail. I had an EIGHTEEN CENT outstanding balance. An eighteen cent balance and 78.00 in late fees. When I called them, they flatly refused to take off the late fees. I will N-E-V-E-R do business with them again. Closed my accounts and both credit cards on the spot.

These same BofA bashers have no problem with the administration of Osama Bin Biden stealing out of the pockets of taxpayers to fund among other things international abortion funding, welfare cheats, pork barrel spending, and an endless array of useless and totally ineffective and wasteful government boondogles. At least we will end up with an awesome hotel instead of full bucket of camel crap.

Banks are in the business of loaning money. They are not in the hospitality business. Time for a class action lawsuit to force them to pay and pay dearly!
tim May 30th 2009 6:53AM
you people are idiots, most of the "bailout" loans are being paid back with significant interest. we the people are making money on this thing, more so than our money in social security. its probably the best investment the government has ever made. open your eyes!!!
B.O stinks May 31st 2009 2:07PM
Soon to be hotel Obama. You can drive your government owned bama mobile to the Obama hotel owned and operated by the government !
geminixxx235 May 31st 2009 2:19PM
Green hotel? Should be black hotel. BofA has no shame.
Tripp May 31st 2009 2:24PM
Dumb-asses!!!! This building has been planned for years. It did not use TARP money. If you study the facts, the government forced TARP money on BOA... further, the government forced BOA to take over Merrill Lynch after BOA learned how bad off they were. BOA is strong and one of the best banks to deal with. PS: After you don't pay your mortgage for a few months, any bank will foreclose on you. Man, Where is America headed with all your stupid, ignorant and uneducated comments!!!!!!

IS DODD'S NAME ON THE 12,000 SQ FT PENTHOUSE?
Connie May 31st 2009 2:29PM
And how many billions of taxpayers dollars did these people get? I guess since its a "green hotel" washington has placed their blessing on it! Maybe EVERY TAXPAYER in the US should get a voucher for at least a free 1 night stay there$$$ Wonder when they'll be paying back that TARP money?
Nim May 31st 2009 3:58PM
This is funny, they take out bail out money and yet they are in the top 5 in the fortune 500 to make a profit of hundreds of millions. Boy, nice to see Barney Frank and his buddies are doing a great job in congress in over seeing everything. Now did anyone get asked about wanting to own GM? I didn't get my phone call. I was hoping GM would go under, greedy union and crapy cars. Start from scratch and build a product people want to buy not like your Chevy Ventures
bev May 31st 2009 4:00PM
The one bank I wish would fold is BOA. They don't give a flip for the people that have made them rich. Don't ask for anything with boa because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. Best thing I ever did was not have anymore to do with them
