Its so nice to see BOA was able to use tax payer dollars they received through Government TARP funds to good use. Not to mention, consumers who have credit card accounts with BOA now know why your interest rates have been re-adjusted so high. BOA customers should be proud to have contributed billions of tax payer dollars, and excessive credit card interest fees to help BOA build a beautiful green Hotel.
debra May 31st 2009 6:38PM
What in the he-- is wrong with us taxpaypayers?
Why are we allowing all of this . Where is the media
Loans are not being made to regular people with good
and excellent credit, even with 50% down. We are
only helping the richest or the poorest. What is going on?

I agree the higher fees/squeeze on the account holders paid for it an will continue to pave the way for mor BOA excess,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
ron May 29th 2009 9:23AM
bofa is not just riping off card holders they have a new policy that all directe deposter's electornic charges will be paid even if there are no fund's in the account to cover the charges and will charge $35.00for ea overdraft plus $35.00 every 5 day's that the account is overdrawn. just think about people on ssi or ss that go over. this is out right robbey. they should not be alouded to do this.
TONYA May 29th 2009 12:42PM
That is untrue. I am a BOA member, and I just got correspondence in the mail this week, that they will not be raising the overdraft fee to $35. The best way to avoid that is to keep money in your account

And you wonder why we are having problems. If I was a shareholder I would be up in arms over this. Luxury at a time when many can't afford basics. They are in another world. The government should demand repayment prior to any funds being used to erect something that obviously looks very good, but will only be a drain on investors ability to get a decent return on there dollar. I guess the Banks and Corporations are running the world.
DEBBIE May 29th 2009 9:34AM
Can the people that have lost their homes because BofA won't help them to re-fi or somehow save their homes stay there at no charge? After all, it is our taxpayer monies to build this unnessary hotel!
Flagirl May 29th 2009 9:56AM
Funny ..They are building a Hotel in St.Augustine, Florida too...I guess they are spending the bail out money rather than lending to people who need it.
neal baker May 29th 2009 10:15AM
why would bank of america open a hotel for business clients--they don't lend money anymore so i would think their customer base is getting thin
Sam May 29th 2009 10:24AM
I have been a BOA customer for about 11 years but I have had enough. Finding out yesterday about them increasing their charges, the fact that they gave Acorn millions of dollars (with no accountability) after getting Tarp money, and now finding out they are building a hotel???? Enough for me! I am withdrawing my money and putting it in an institution that values its clients- not take advantage of them. I am letting my money talk. I encourage others to do the same.
PHILIPPE May 29th 2009 1:42PM
I WILL DO THE SAME , but where to go now , bank become very scary for customer
Donovan May 29th 2009 10:34AM
Its your choice to do business/have accounts with BOA or not. BOA lied about their financial situation to our Government and to the tax payers. To the tune of BILLIONS of dollars. Yet, BOA seems to be unable to help home owners stay in their homes, and continues to screw their customers, and account holders over. I view this as pure fraud and extortion being committed by BOA. However, thats my personal opinion.
ron May 29th 2009 11:01AM
you are right & a class action law suite should be in the work'es soon.
JM May 29th 2009 10:38AM
This is a prime example of the media fanning the flames. This hotel was announced and started two years ago. Should they just abandon the construction and void all contracts because they got some TARP money? What if it happens to be a moneymaker - should they back away from all good investments because they got TARP money? The business clients who stay in the hotel will be paying for it, it's not like the bank is housing them for free.
Rufus May 29th 2009 10:42AM
This hotel venture is just another of BofA financial stupidity. Some more BofA housekeeping is needed to rid itself of those who do not yet understand "MULTI-BILLION $ BAILOUT." Let "guests" visiting BofA stay at the "other" hotel around the corner with plenty of vacancies.
tom May 29th 2009 10:51AM
BofA can go screw itself and its megabillion Ritz- built- all compliments of the screwing they did of the American consumer- to the tune of 80 billion, and still counting. Appropriately- all room fees should be marked at 60$ a nite- as payback for our cuffed handed generosity.
David May 29th 2009 11:29AM
How many more reasons do people need to make the decision to LEAVE Bank of America? If you still bank with these crooks, you're beyond STUPID!
Avice May 31st 2009 4:57PM
Stupid? I regularly borrow money from BoA but pay them absolutely no interest. How? I use their credit card and pay the entire balance every month. How stupid is that?
David May 29th 2009 11:33AM
JM...after living in Las Vegas for 12 years, I see the free bees the casinos give away to big spending clients. You can't tell me Bank of America will not conduct the same practice of giving away free rooms at "their"hotel to clients they want something from. Don't be so foolish. They'll do that and worse. They'll probably provide hookers too!
Petrole May 29th 2009 5:37PM
This is sick stuff.
