Usually the hotels for sale that I write about are on the fancier side but the Clermont Motor Hotel in Atlanta doesn't fit that category. What makes it,
and its $6.5 million price tag, interesting is its basement. That basement is the home of the
infamous Clermont Lounge, Atlanta's first and longest continually-operating strip club. The Clermont is a local landmark that features unusual dancers such as Blondie who recites poetry and has a unique way of crushing beer cans on her chest and Lil' Cathy who has been working at the lounge since her 20s and is now in her 50s. It is hoped that whoever buys the Clermont Motor Hotel from I
nman Park Properties will keep the lounge just as it is so that it remains a much-whispered about Atlanta landmark for years to come.

I've been to the Clermont several times!
It doesn't feel like a "strip club," since the patrons are encouraged to dance, there are no seats, there are tons of college kids (including girls), and it's kind of divey. Yes, Blondie strips and crushes cans with her boobs (which is jaw-dropping, btw), but it's more of a sideshow than a strip club. This is a fantastic place to take (progressive) visitors. I hope it doesn't go away soon!

I've been to the Clermont Lounge twice, both times when I was in town for the auto show. $2 PBR, relatively cheap booze, nasty strippers, and karaoke - it's a recipe for a good night.
I love that place :)
