Spelling Mansion Listed at $150 Million, Now World's Most Expensive Estate

Move over Fleur de Lys: Candy Spelling's legendary massive 123-room Holmby Hills mansion has officially hit the market with a record-breaking asking price of $150 million. That's $25 million more than the Beverly Hills behemoth Mariah Carey is said to have made an offer on recently, and officially makes the Spelling mansion, called "The Manor," the world's most expensive estate in terms of current listings, the Wall St. Journal reports. The 57,000-sq.-ft. mansion, which has at least 11 bedrooms and 16 baths, was built by TV producer Aaron Spelling on the site of Bing Crosby's former estate, which they razed
Features include a bowling alley in the basement, a beauty parlor and a barber shop in the 17,000-sq.-ft. attic, a gift wrapping room, doll museum, a home gym, a wine cellar and wine tasting room, a humidity-controlled silver storage room, a china storage room, and a screening room where the screen rises up out of the floor with paintings moving up to reveal the projector, the Real Estalker reports. The gated grounds encompassing five acres include a motor court with a fountain, covered parking for dozens of luxury cars, formal gardens including a rooftop rose garden, a swimming pool and spa complex and of course a tennis court.

How ignorant that's why the world hates America, right because in the lands where oil runs freely, the sheiks take the cash that they profit off of Americans and share it with their poor, do you read news articles? Didn't you ever see the sheiks car made of solid gold? how bout his fortress? I believe the poor in his country live off of pennies a day. But right, it's all George Bush's fault that the world hates us, news flash the world has always hated us, and we help them more than our own people. They should pull our troops out bring them home and keep all our money to ourselves and fix our own country, without us supporting their poor then they could hate us for a reason. Just FYI Bush may not have been the best president, but everything wrong in this world is not his fault, get over yourself.

you guys are supposed to be commenting on the house, not fighting with each other over class warfare

So many of you people are not informed and are totally jealous over the fact that someone worked for their money, it may have come easy, but it is their money. They can splurge on anything they want. Candy Spelling is involved in a lot of charity work in LA and has given back to her community. If she wants to sell a house that is too large for her and downsize, more power to her. As far as the comments regarding she and Tori, Candy has reached out to her daughter to rebuild a relationship. Tori has no desire. Why should Candy support Tori? Do your parents support you? Everyone should grow up, move forward, and mind their own business. Have a nice day.
In addition, if people in our country are struggling it is more likely that they have made bad choices in their life. Take responsiblilities for yourself and stop looking for a bailout.

To James post of April 25th. I enjoyed your comments and would like to respond and add some thoughts of my own. I wouldn't necessarily say "more likely that they have made bad choices" is necessarily true. I held my career for 28 years until my Doctor's forced my retirement due to Cancer I'm battling. I didn't ask for this illness, certainly it wouldn't be my choice.
Ms. Spelling shouldn't be judged by anyone, particularly bloggers who don't know her from Adam. From what I've read over the years, I'll say it's my impression she was a wonderful wife to Mr. Spelling (almost 40 years I believe) and a wonderful Mother to her two Children. She is very close to her son and wants to be close to her daughter again. These two children grew up in the same home (with the same Mother) and only Tori has issue with her? I won't judge Tori, but it certainly appears she didn't get what she thought in her Father's will and she's throwing a tantrum. In the long run, the most hurt will be on Tori and Tori's own children (by Tori and not their Grandmother or their Uncle).
Myself, I've never heard of a will reading for family at the passing of one parent. Typically the estate transfers to the surviving spouse. Tori should be glad she received anything before her Mother's passing.
Some of us have lost both our parents. To those of us who have, we understand the precious time we had with them and the pain of not being able to spend "just one more moment" with them.
I also understand that Ms. Spelling has given much of her time and resources to the community. Periodically I view her web site, always am I amazed at the amount of time she gives. This comes from someone who's a good person, someone with a good heart and not someone who should be abused by bloggers or family.
I'm certain Ms. Spelling and Mr. Spelling made many sacrifices over the years, sacrifices which only they could know and understand. I'm certain they have had their shares of ups and downs as well, after all that's part of life and being human.
Read some of the hours Mr. Spelling worked and try to imagine the incredible amount of pressure he must have been under daily. Read Ms. Spellings latest book and understand her life better before judgement please.
Their Mansion didn't come without sacrifice, but I for one know they earned it and they should enjoy every possible moment of their success. Wishing all a good day and happy blogging. Gregory

I had the opportunity to meet Aaron Spelling twice several years ago while working at a LV casino & also met his daughter Tori once - both were extremely gracious people with none of the attitude one would expect from anyone with their financial reinforcement - he made his money giving people what they wanted which means there was nothing wrong in him having what he wanted - he certainly wasn't a thief on the order of Wall Street or Washington bureaucrats - his wife initially at least, gave him what he wanted & now it's her turn - it's a realization of the, "American Dream," which needs to continue to flourish even though not accessible to everyone - after 2-3 drinks a hot pocket tastes like filet mignon, anyway.
